Funniest Budget Stories or Plans

I was just thinking about some of the things that I used to do when I had a really tight budget and I was a young soldier. When I think back on some of my plans there were really quite ridiculous.

Budget Board, share some of the craziest things that you have done in the name of budgeting. I'll go first.

I would use dating as a form of budget eating. No flames. I was 19 - 21. So I would date civilians (made more money than soldiers) and I would always pick restaurants that had large portions. That way I would always have leftovers.

So sad but true. A girl gets sick of chow hall food.

When I was a graduate student I was too poor to afford the thirty dollars a month that the landlord wanted for an air conditioning unit in my third floor apartment. The electricity was included in my rent so who could blame him. Since public transportation was my only means of getting around anyway I had a monthly bus pass. I would ride the bus to the mall and back just so I could be in air conditioning during the heat waves. Didnt cost me anything extra and it got me out of the apartment on my days off.
