We are taking a trip to Hilton head next month. We have never visited before. Does anyone have any recommendations? It will be a family teip

Hilton Head is amazing! If you are staying at DVC, the cast members are the best! Rent some bikes and go all over the island. Take a boat charter with either Island Adventure or Dolphin Seafari. Both were great experiences. Dolphin seafari may sound cheesy, but the staff members know their stuff! If you book through Disney for dolphin seafari the price is the same and they usually pick up at Disney first. We did dolphins and donuts morning cruise. Mini golf is great and there are lots of wonderful places to eat!

We will be there next month as well! It will be our second time (we love the resort)
I’m attaching the picture of the recreation calendar from our stay - things change like times and activities but this will give you an idea. We traveled with our 5 year old so the only thing we couldn’t do that i would have wanted to do that I recommend to anyone who can, is the distillery tour.
There is always something happening.

We went in the dead of winter and still had fun combing the beach for shells. Don’t forget you’re only an hour from Savannah. On our checkin day we spent the morning and afternoon on the hop on hop off trolley tour bus. Had lunch at the Pirate House. Great fun.

My kids LOVE dolphins! We will also have a two year old and a baby with us, so we are trying to find some things that all of us can do together and separately.

This looks so great! We just became DVC members this fall and wanted to try a different pace than the parks. Any idea what the weather might be like?

We've been a few times in March, and find it a perfect time for bike riding, miniature golf, outdoor activities. DH would say it's a perfect time for regular golf, but he loves golf at Hilton Head-anytime!

I think when I was looking into it for our booking in late March, that average temps for March are about high of 70 degrees and low of 50 degrees.
I am actually looking forward to a cooler evening because they do marshmallow roasts at night with the marsh as a backdrop and I feel like it will be perfect weather for it.

Also the pools are always heated just fyi.

Where is the mini golf? Is it onsite like Vero Beach?

No, the closet one is called Pirate’s Cove and it is to the right of the resort on the main road in and out of the island. You could easily bike there or a short 5 minute car ride. I’m talking less than 1 mile awhile.

There’s a place on site with putters and balls. No big windmills or anything but it scratches the itch.

We were there this month. If you like Jazz music, there's a sweet place called The Jazz Corner on HHI. We ate dinner and enjoyed the shows there twice! Loved it!

Thanks for mentioning this place. I thought it was closed. At one time wasn't it owned by Robert Irvine (?), retired military, from the food channel's "Restaurant Impossible"? Is he still there or gone?

Good question! I have no idea. But we had a blast at both dinner shows, they spaced people well, and service was great!

Actually, Robert Irvine owned a wonderful restaurant on HHI, EAT, that went out of business some years ago.

Just wondering if the OP got to actually go on the trip. I can't remember when the HHI resort closed. It may have been later than March. I'm hoping we can make our trip in October!

Thanks! See, I was all confused, thinking it was the Jazz Corner that closed. I wanted to go since DH is a musician in several Jazz Clubs in NYC (Well, not at the moment-but...).

October is amazing in HH. You might still be able to swim in the ocean.

The consensus among the CMs that work there is that October is the best time to go to HHI for the ideal balance of warm weather and low crowds.
