What has been the most memorable dining experience you have had at WDW? Is it something that happened to you personally , or someone else. Maybe it was the food or service you had. Or was it a special occasion. I'll start I was eating at O'hana's a few years ago. They were doing the Coconut roll for the children and I was sitting right at the path they go around in. This adorable young boy was was for the life of him trying and trying to get the coconut going with little sucsess, My wife and i were watching and laughing as he finally got the hang of it . about 30 seconds later as I was eating some wings and "smack" the little guy barrled into me head down. The wing flew out of my hand onto my white shirt! My wife 's face went from laughing to one of scared/shock, becuase she thought she was going to see an explosion from me.At the same time the little boy's mother run to me saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Instead of exploding I let out this continuous LOUD laugh that half the room stopped and looked at me wondering what is with this guy! Will never forget that kid!

Mine has to be from 1985. I was 16 and my parents, brother & myself were staying at the Contemporary. We were on the Gold Key plan and went to eat at the Top of the World (now California Grill). We were all dressed up in our nice clothes and the food & music was wonderful...we felt like we had made it. We knew that we were experiencing something we wouldn't have done otherwise.

We were on our first WDW trip with children (DS 5 and DD3). We ate at Ohana's. It was a very unusual night it was misting but it was still pretty clear out. The view out the Poly was wonderful. My DD3 loved the Hawaiian music and she started to hula dance around the table in a very graceful way. I really have never seen her look so beautiful it was truely a magical moment. It sounds strange but it is my favorite memory of my DD.

Two years ago, I was visiting WDW with just my daughter. She is vegan (for medical reasons) and it is always difficult for us to eat out. We had heard that Boma had lots of vegan choices so we booked a dinner there. When we told our server that she was vegan, he took her up to the buffet and said that a chef would show her which foods she could eat. Instead, what happened was that TJ greeted her with a huge smile and said "You are vegan? I will make you something special!" Not long after, he arrived at our table with a huge, elaborate platter of food. The other guests were all looking at us and saying "why does she get something special?"

The food was, of course, amazing, and he returned later with an equally elaborate and delicious vegan dessert platter.

This meant SO much to my daughter. And there was so much food that we enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day.

We have been back since, of course, and TJ has treated her like someone very special each time. (And I love the food there so much anyway that we all enjoy it!)

1991. We were Florida residents and didn't have much money, but had an AP for our family courtesty of my in-laws. We saved up for two months to spend a night at the Contemporary and had lunch at the restaurant in Norway (can't remember the name right now). It was the most wonderful meal in the world and we felt so special to be eating at a sit-down restaurant in Walt Disney World! My kids at the time are grown up now and I have a second set (9, 9 and 11) to raise. This will be their first trip to WDW and I think I'm probably more excited than them to be going to WDW for the first time in 10 years!

Well I had a lot of memorable dinning experiences over the past :::coughing loudly::: hurmph...huh... some on number of years.

But I have two that really stick out in my mind.

It was in April 2004. It was the last day of our DS's first trip to WDW, he was only 9 months old. We had breakfast at O'hanas, which I must say, was a BAD experience.

BUT, it sticks in my mind as a good one. As the characters came around my DS fell in love with Dale, and Dale fell in love with my DS. Everytime Dale came around, DS would reach his arms out to the loving chipmunk, he even would give Dale a huge sloppy 9 month old's kiss on the nose each time. Everytime he reach out, Dale would pick him up. On his last round to our table, Dale picked DS up & DS was just smiling at him. He then put his head on Dale's shoulder & cuddled right in. Dale started rocking & within 30 seconds DS was happily asleep. The look on DS's face was just priceless. He was so calm & peaceful, and had this huge sleepy smile on his face. It was not anywhere near a time that DS would normally take a nap. I guess he was just THAT comfortable.

I almost had to rangle that chipmunk to get my DS back. Dale held him for like 10 minutes before he finally gave him back. Everytime I tried to take him, Dale would just put his finger to his mouth in a "shhh" way & pretend to lay his head down. It was so sweet. And we took A LOT of video & pictures.

The second was April of last year. DS (at that point 21 months old), developed a HUGE crush on Minnie Mouse. I mean OUT OF THIS WORLD HUGE! During our trip we had a character dinner at LTT. When DS finally saw Minnie, I thought he was going to explode. He LAUNCHED himself into Minnie's arms & just kept saying "My Minnie! I love MY Minnie!". Whenever anyone asked him about Minnie being Mickey's girlfriend, he would say "No! She is MY Minnie!". This time again, we had a great experience with character. Minnie stayed with DS a long time & played with him. Throughout the night as she kept coming back she would spend a lot of time with DS. She would coming running up each time & give DS the biggest hugs. It made our night, and DS's lifetime. Even now he says he cant wait to "Go see my Minnie at that resturant again! I want to hug & kiss her." I cant wait for March.

The kid takes after his Mommy. I used to tell EVERYONE I was going to marry Mickey Mouse, and now DS is in love with Minnie. That apple really doesn't fall far from the tree.

Well for us it has to be the wonderful service we had from our waitress at CRT dinner last summer. Krisz from hungary, she was the most delightful waitress we have ever encountered during all of our WDW trips. I regret that we did not get to take a picture...


We are going back to CRT, lunch this time and I really hope we get to see her again. She was so friendly, funny and helpful. We even asked to speak to her boss and we told her superior just how memorable she had made our meal, that all CM'S should be like her and that she represented Disney so well.

Let's just say we tipped her accordingly.

The first night I was ever at WDW in 1998 we ate at HDDR- it was very memorable not becuase I thought the entertainment was great- it was just so different and I had no expectations of it or of WDW in general. The food was very good and our table was right up in front by the stage. I was singled out by one of the cast for an embarrasing moment. It set the stage for a great experience at WDW.

I would have to say that for us, it was at LTT in MK. The food was good, nothing incredible, but the service was great and the character interaction was AWESOME! Really set us in the mood for MVMCP.

What a great thread I'm really enjoying reading about everyone's special experiences.
I have two that stand out in my many happy memories of disney dining.
Our first trip to disney was in 2000 and I found the dis a couple of months before our trip I read about the wonderful atmosphere at SAI and so made our first ps for a meal at disney there. My dh and dd made so much fun at all the planning on the dis I did before we went(in fun of course) and when we walked into this restaurant their jaws dropped and they were in awe! We were barely seated when they both announced that they sure were glad I did all that planning

The second experience was in 2003...I lost my dh in 2002 and so went to disney on my very 1st solo trip anywhere. The 1st ps I had made was on my arrival day at LTT for dinner, which is a character meal. I was very nervous and lonely, and was beginning to regret that I had booked a character dinner. Well...it is almost as if the characters sensed this...they came and spent so much time with me, they sat across from me and "shared" my dinner and goofy refused to leave until the waitress took a picture of us kissing A grandmother at another table stopped by on her way out to tell me she was jealous of all the attention I got! While I have had other good character dining experiences since then, none has ever compared to this experience, and it put me at ease for the rest of my trip.

I read about the wonderful atmosphere at SAI and so made our first ps for a meal at disney there. My dh and dd made so much fun at all the planning on the dis I did before we went(in fun of course) and when we walked into this restaurant their jaws dropped and they were in awe! We were barely seated when they both announced that they sure were glad I did all that planning

I checked the abbreviations list, but couldn't find SAI. What is it? I have 1 ADR left & would love a jaw dropping experience!

San Angel Inn at Epcot
It is Mexican food. DD and I make it a MUST every trip! You will hear a lot of mixed reviews on the food, we think the food is good but not great...the margaritas and atmosphere are great though and well worth the trip

I have posted about this before....but it has been quite a while. I have no clue where we were (what restaurant) but it was in 1980.....

My entire extended family (dads side) and some close family friends took a trip to WDW...I was 5, brother 9. We went to a character breakfast and the only character I remember is tigger...and this is why. My father is a wise guy. So when Tigger came around to sign autographs, my dad tried sliding or check underneath for Tigger to sign it. Tigger then proceeded to point his finger at my dad and pick him up and carry him out of the restaurant. My guess is this is probably why Tigger has always been my favorite character.

On our recent trip (3 weeks ago) to WDW...we talked about this with him, when we were heading to crystal palace with myself, dh, my mom, my dad, ds, and my nephew. He said that tigger tapped on his shoulder (and I remember this, too) he at that point told him to play along..and that is when everything began. I guess I'm lucky that DH didn't propose to me at disney like he was planning to...this even w/my dad is my favorite disney memory and I don't know if DH could have topped it

First wonderful dining experience at Disney World was in 1976....our honeymoon! Anywhere and everywhere we ate was great!

Second wonderful dining experience at Disney World was in 1984 with DD who was 2....Mickey IceCream Pop that she just adored!

Third wonderful dining experience at Magic Kingdom(notice the change in title) was in 2003..LTT dining solo, and like OP was treated like the Queen! They went so far as to ask my favorite character there, and when she couldn't get to my table in my dining time frame, had her meet me, and take a picture all by myself....the other characters also joined me at the table so I didn't "eat alone"!!!!! What a great place!!!

Don't remember what year it was but DH and I had a most memorable lobster dinner at San Angel Inn....has never been on the menu any time we've gone back.....

Mine is when I was about 12 we ate at Narcooses at the GF. We had this waiter named Steve that I thought was so good looking. So when I went to the restroom my dad told him I thought he was hot!!! So when I came back Steve took his picture with me and my whole family made this big scene. So every year we went back we would go and see Steve. We have nto seen him in a couple of years, I wonder if he still works there??? I will have to see if I can dig out a picture.

intresting stories so far, anything funny or odd happen to anyone while dining at WDW?

In 2002, my DH had a conference at the Dolphin. The conference was 2 weeks before my DD's fifth birthday and we decided to turn it into a family vacation. I was thrilled to get a reservation for Cinderellas breakfast with a seating time before the park officially opened. It was so surreal to be walking through Main Street without a crowd of people. Then as we approached the castle, who appeared? Two cast members were escorting Mickie & Minnie Mouse down the path. My daughter's jaw dropped and her eyes got so big. She asked if she could go up to them and I told her Yes! Go! She took off running and Mickey Mouse saw her, stopped and held his arms out for a hug. She gave Minnie a big hug too and I snapped a couple of quick photos. We had the best breakfast at the castle - my daughter told our server and each of the princesses what had happened, she couldn't stop talking about it!
