MY sis and I are doing a child-free WDW trip soon (March). She is a skeptical newbie. We are both stretching the budgets for this trip. I will have an AP, so can get DDE as well.

Where can we go for some eves out, without breaking the bank? Any discounts for us, with Disney Visa, AP, DDE, AAA? Gotta impress my sis, too. I always hung in PI and wandered around the crowds with my refllable bucket, but tended to be alone.

Oh, and sis is in the midst of quitting smoking. Nonsmoking venue would most likely be best.

Will you have a car?

Anne

where are you staying?

Pop has a pool bar which is pretty popular - also an inside lounge

POR has a lounge with entertainment so does POFQ

over on the broadwalk - there is Jellyrolls - but people definitely smoke here - one reason I avoid it - allergic to tobacco (all forms).

If you have a car, Jungle Jim's at the Crossroads by DTD is a great place to go! Good food and a good time! The Ale House on 535 is also a fun place to go.

Have fun!

No, we will not have a car. We are just coming in for 5 nights. 3/13-3/18, at POFQ.

Jellyrolls sounded wonderful, till I read about the smoke. I personally would ahve a good time at ESPN watching the Cavs Game (if it is true that they get like all the games) but sis doesn't watch basketball. Anyway, I can watch the Cavs at home.

Personally, I love spending childfree evenings at the WS in Epcot, but that closes at 9pm. Afterward, I considered Adventurers Club but not sure if sis will want to pay MORE admissions, lol.

There is supposed to be the bar in POFQ, right? Is it somewhat well attended? Smoke-free? I have terrible, instantaneous reaction to cigarette smoke, and I also dont want sis to be tempted to smoke...smoke free is a priority.

Last ST Pats Day I hung out alone at Raglan Road, but dont' remember if people smoked in there or not. I spent the eve watching a local Irish Dance school's kids dancing, and comparing their dance steps to my kids' dance school's.

Thanks for helping me out!
Beth

Raglan Road is smoke-free; you will probably have a good time there. I have terrible sinus problems, so I'm glad that WDW has gone smoke-free with all of their restaurants.

Cheers!

House of Blues is smoke free and has no-cover nights with local bands or a DJ sometimes, check their schedule.

We LOVE Mizners at the GF, you can listen to the GF Society Orchestra while you gaze out the windows.

oooo - sounds nice. I don't recall ever even seeing a House of Blues. Gotta look into it!

I think all the inside lounges at WDW hotels are now smoke free - but not sure.

POR is very popular - so I guess POFQ is too. both have live entertainment Wed - sun (I think)

My sis seems to want to try Adventurers Club....$20 for a couple of hours seems kinda steep to me. But I guess if she really wants to............... I will have AP and DDE, and I think one of those is giving a discount (AP?) on the ticket. Or changing it to multiday or something like that.

Are Comedy Warehouse and Adventurers Club nonsmoking?

Beth

Must say Tom and I loved the man at the piano bar at POR! Id say hop on over and lend an ear, you will find yourself dancing and singing!

Pleasure Island has a spring special that allows AP holders to purchase a one day ticket at regular price and receive free admission until June 30. You can purchase up to four tickets if you are an AP holder. That would sure bring the per-night price down if you wanted to go to PI more than once. :thumbsup2

FYI, all Florida restaurants are now smoke-free. They passed an amendment to the state constitution a few years back. Bars can still allow smoking, but no more than a certain percent of their revenues can come from food.

The bar in POFQ is non-smoking; not sure there is live music every night, tho.

For a Jelly Rolls-type experience without the smoke, try Pat O'Brians in CityWalk. While you are there, you can check out Jimmy Buffet's and some of the other clubs, as well. $10 ticket gets you in everywhere, just PO'Bs is around $7 after 9 p.m.

Budget-wise, remember that on Mondays and Thursdays you can get cheap drinks at PI ($2 draft beers, $4 mixed drinks). Speaking of cheap drinks, TGI Fridays (in Crossroads) has great Happy Hour deals; Alehouse (on 535) usually has some good deals as well.

Your DDE card will get you 50% off of admission to Pleasure Island for you and one guest.
