Fun on the 4th of July-which Resort?

We're heading to the AKL next week and hoping to be able to book with the "coming home" discount. We'd like to go for a long weekend over 4th of July. Which resort would you suggest. Since it'll be hot and humid, we'll probably go to the water parks during the day.

Do you have any suggestions for a great resort for 4th of July..do they have any extra fun things at that time?

How about the Poly or Contemp so that you could watch the fireworks on the 4th from the hotel - and not have to be in the park at the most crowded time? We watched from the Contemp one year on the 4th and it was beautiful - fireworks were set off all around the park, not just from one spot - we've also been in the park on the 4th and it was mobbed!- and getting out of the park was a nightmare - we hid in Casey's Corner for a long time!

Last year we stayed at the Contemporary. The park is nuts on the 4th. They rope it off, and you can hardly walk anywhere. It is much better to watch from a resort hotel. This year we are booked at the Polynesian. We were there at Christmas, and the fireworks view from the beach was great. We sat in a lounge chair with our drinks and watched without the crowds. I can't wait to see the 4th of July fireworks from there.
