Fun on a non-park day?

What are some of your favorite things to do with kids (3 aged 7 and under) on a non-park rest day?

We love spending a morning or afternoon at Ft. Wilderness! You can have breakfast or lunch at the Trail's End restaurant, visit the petting farm, visit the WDW stables and see the horses, walk the Swamp Trail, play on the beach, and lots more. To get there, just go the Magic Kingdom and catch the boat. We really enjoy the boat ride. It's a really nice, relaxing, and FREE thing to do when you need a day off!

We only have one DS (2.5), but here is what we typically do on non-prk days:

Sleep in!!
Character Breakfast at one of the hotels (O'Hana's and Chef Mickey's are two of my faves)
DTD
Hang at the Pool
Scout out other resorts for future stays.
Miniture Golf
Sea World or other off-site adventure

We've never been, but the water parks would be a good option for these days also.

Like the above- we also sleep in and mostly just hang out at the hotel pools. They could spend the entire vacation in the pools. We may also head down to Downtown Disney for some shopping, dinner and visit to lego land. We mostly just take it easy and do what the kids are up to.

This is pretty much what we're planning on doing on our non-park day, especially since that is the day we're doing Hoop-dee-doo at 5pm. If the kiddos are up for it, we may even actually hit the campfire sing-a-long with Chip-n-Dale too. We may spend the morning at the pool or exploring the resort (staying at WL)

We don't do non-park days, but my boys loved the fountains at DTD, especially the one at the entrance on the Marketplace side. We spent about 3 hours there over two different days! Mini-golf, hang out at the resort, DTD, character meal if you want to at one of the resorts.....

This Aug DS13 & I will not be going into the parks until our 3rd full day at WDW
Sat - land at MCO 10am, WL pool, Grand Floridian dinner and pool (DVC)
Sun - Chef Mickey char brkfst, Contemp pool, Downtown Disney, Lego Store, Rainforest
Mon - Whispering Canyon brkfst, Typhoon Lagoon, tour AKL
Tues - Kona brkfst, Poly pool, then activate APs mid afternoon

I saw that you are going to the pools at different resorts. Is that allowed even if you are not staying in that resort? Do you have to be a DVC member or can any guests staying on site do that?

here are our plans for our non park days this trip.. our 3 kids are 11, will be 7 and will be 4.

Go to the Disney outlets
Mini Golf
Water parks
Ck out the boardwalk
Ck out other hotels for future visits!
Drive over and ck out Celebration (wouldnt you love to live there)

Pirate Adventure Cruise
Disney Quest
Special dinners at dis resorts
See the electrical water parade
City walk at universal
Hang by pool
Sleep in!
Let the kids play!

only DVCers can pool hop - certain times of the yr are blocked out, we need/should to call ahead, cant pool hop to Stormalong Bay (BC) or AKL pools, need to be staying on points

We're staying off-site. If we wanted to go to Ft. Wilderness, is parking free there or even permissible to non-guests?

On one of our off-park days, we went to DTD, then went to Cirque. I have 2 DDs (5 & 8) and they, pule DH & I LOVED the show!!! It's worth it if you have extra funds! My father actually gave us the tickets for all of our birthdays last year-what an awesome gift!!

On non-park days, there are so many things that you can do. You can go to DTD, which is one of my favorites. You can also go play some putt-putt at one of the 100's of courses. You can go see a movie at the ACM theater at DTD (great theater). If you desire, you could drive to the coast (about an hour away) and go to the Space Center. Or if you want to lay around the hotel, there are typically alot of pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, walking trails, or even golf courses. Or take a nap and relax.

My kids love Sea World. But they also liked going to Planet Hollywood and just walking around DTD.

We stayed at All Star Sports last time, and the kids loved the pool and the playground.

They even liked shopping at the non-Disney stores, but they had Disney items (much cheaper that way). My kids were 8, 6, 2 at the time.

Of course my kids would just be happy in the hotel room because staying in a hotel is a "treat" for them!

As we come from the U.k on a non-park days, we usually go to the cinema to see any new films that are coming out. In the U.K we usually see most major films 6 mths after you guys. This year we will be doing mini golf as well.

With kids, I would even just ride the monorail around, and boats. when I was a kid that was always special.

Parking is allowed and is free, but you can't actually go into the resort. They have parking at the entrance gate and run buses. When we went there last year, we waited a LONG time for a bus going in the right direction (there are different routes). We only waited a minute or two when we left.
