We're going back for our 5th trip as a family and looking for new places to eat as it's our 3rd visit on the dining plan. I'm looking for fun and interactive restaurants like Ohana's and Whisper Canyon. Any suggestions?

You picked two great ones. Whispering Canyon has a lot of fun interaction. 'Ohana's is one of my favorites as well.
Are you looking for characters or no characters? We are going to try 50s Prime Time this next trip. It sounds like it has a lot of fun things going on too. One of my favorite character meals is Crystal Palace. There are a lot of choices at Epcot is you're looking for something with a cultural feel. It has been several years since I've eaten at Restaurant Marakesh, but I remember good food and belly dancers. San Angel Inn at Mexico has a neat atmosphere. I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly, but these are a few of my favorites.

You've picked two great restaurants, already. 50's Prime Time, as mentioned above, is a lot of fun. Sci-Fi dine-in has a unique atmosphere. Also, 1900 Park Fare and the Garden Grill if you haven't tried them before. Liberty Tree Tavern is one of our favorites, but they've recently removed character dining. Then if you're looking for signature dining, California Grill has an amazing fireworks view.

Whatever you choose, have a great time at WDW!

Thanks! I'm looking for both character and non character dining as I have two young children 5 and almost 3 at the time of the trip. We've made reservations for Garden Grill and have been to 50's Prime Time. I was just looking to see if there was something out there we've missed. THANKS!

Crystal Palace is fun too with Pooh and friends. During the meal they have the characters do a little parade and everyone can join in. Food is great there also. One of our faves. We usually go for lunch because we enjoy that midday break.

Have fun!

1900 Park Fare-Breakfast is Mary Poppins and friends (we saw Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger). Dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step-Sisters and Step Mother.

Donald's Breakfast at Tusker House-Donald, Daisy, Mickey

We also liked the Wave-it was quiet and had good food.

1900 Park Fare breakfast. The mad hatter is hilarious. When we came for breakfast with our 3 year old, my son was in a terrible mood. I thought we were going to have to wolf down breakfast and leave. While I was up at the buffet making his breakfast, I heard him laughing at the table (you know how you can pick out your own kid). I turned around and saw the Mad Hatter at the table and came back just in time to hear a colorful conversation about how my son was being chosen to be the new hedgehog and he was going to take DS home to hit him in the head with a flamingo. :lmao: He was all around the room doing silly things and had us cracking up!

For anyone who hasn't been the Mickey Backyard BBQ was a huge hit with my two kids and our friends two kids. All 4 still talk about getting to dance with the characters and not just once! Worth the extra money to experience the fun!

My kids really enjoyed the Sci Fi cafe. I guess the whole "eat in the car" thing made a big impression on them.

Neither wants to go back to San Angel Cantina. The "volcano" and mariachi band in no way made up for the horrific food there.

One suggestion: if you grab something to eat at the bakery in France, sit at the little tables there and wait for the birds to come begging. My boys had a blast sharing their treats with the birds. But, then again, they're easily amused, lol!

How about the Coral Reef Restaurant? I've never been able to work it into my schedule, but I've read that it's a favorite with kids, especially if you can get an aquarium-side table.

We've always enjoyed Rainforest Cafe. I know it's a "chain" but the prices are decent, I thought the food was good, there's lots of selection and the atmosphere is pretty cool.

Another vote for 50's prime time. In fact we went there TWICE last time (second time hubby and I alone). We liked the fried chicken dinner w/ real mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. The character interactions of the 'cousins' is what makes it fun and you have to keep a light heart and sense of humor. Our 'cousin' actually yelled for "judy" (my mom) to come to the table (she was in the BATHROOM at the time) what a hoot.
