9 more days!!! :cool1: :dance3: :Pinkbounc

Looking for some countdown ideas to do with my DSs 6. 8, and 9.(Trying to really work us into a frenzied state of excitement!)

We've completed our Solar Mickey Ts and our Tye Dye Mickey Ts thanks to the Creative DISigns forum! Still working on iron ons....

Hopefully receiving postcards from Fairy Godmailer any day!

Purchased trading pins to surprise kids with!

Watched Mary Poppins for the first time.(Wow can Dick VanDyke dance!) last night.

Anyone have a link or ideas for Disney themed activity sheets for the plane?

Please share your family's special ideas! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I get little things from Target that are Disney themed, like stickers, coloring books, etc. and I leave them for my dd each night before we leave. It's also stuff for her to do on the plane!

Could you post the links to the t-shirt ideas??? I would LOVE to see them!

I always print out a disney themed calendar for the coming months until our trip. Then they get stickers to put on them to count down the days til we go. :wizard:

We've done the paper chain thing, and it's worked well for us. It was especially good when ds #1 didn't have a real concept of exactly what/how long a day was!

Try googling for Disney coloring pages, and print them out for your kids. Then find some Disney clip art and make a nice cover for the pages. It's festive and cheap!!:thumbsup2

I realize this is a little too close for your trip to actually do this, but I got the Mickey Head Paint Chips from Home Depot and made a chain of them. We started at 80-something days. Got all different colors and just taped them together, kind of in rainbow formation. Kids rip off one each day. Hung a Disney poster next to the chain, too. Keeps everyone excited! :goodvibes

I'd love to have the link to the t-shirts, too!

Sorry to say I don't know how to post a link, but I'll get you there!

Go to the main forums listing page and scroll waaay down to Creative DISigns...(not Creative Community). On the first page of posts you will find "Family Fun Solar Shirts", and "I'm a Visual Learner...Tye dye". Both have pictures of finished projects and instructions. I am not at all crafty but I ended up doing a great job with both. :thumbsup2 If you have any "how to" questions let me know!

To post a link to a specific thread, open the thread that you want to link to. The address entry area at the top of your screen will change to be the address of that link. Copy the address that appears there (highlight, right click, and select "copy" from the menu that appears), and then when you reply to the thread that you want to post a link in, right click again in your "reply to post" box, and select "paste". The web address will appear in your text box, and when you are done with your message and hit "post" it will automatically turn into a clickable link.

Note: some sites are not linkable period, and it looks like the board has some linking restrictions for new posters, I don't know exactly what they are though.

Andwhoo, back to crafts, we're going to make a map of the MK. We're going down to our local newspaper (if bigger towns I'd call ahead) to pick up an end roll of newsprint. Ours give these away for kids to draw on, some papers sell the end rolls for a couple of bucks. I'm going to cut a poster-sized sheet and mark out the main paths in the MK (I may even hit the library and use their overhead projector) and make circles where the attractions go, and my daughter (6) will draw a picture of the attraction or something inside the attraction of things she's been on (in her case not everything yet, we had such a short trip for her first one), cut it out, and tape it in the circle. For ones she really wants to see and hasn't yet, I'll show her where they belong on the map and she can put a star in the circle there. Older kids might want to get some map-reading skills in and mark on the big map where they are likely to meet characters.
