I have always loved the clever things that I have heard guests say to Characters that make the interactions even more fun. I, however, can't pull this off. I tried saying something funny to Cruella DeVil and it fell completely flat. So flat, that I probably won't reattempt it -ever. o_O
Does anyone have any success stories to share? You will have my admiration for your skills. :worship:

As my dd has grown up we've had tons of fun with characters - mostly the face ones as it's fun to see what they will say. My absolute favorite moment was when she was little and the White Witch from Narnia was out behind the castle. She was really nervous about seeing her (dd was about 5/6 at the time). A cast member came over and told dd that it would be ok but if she really wanted to make "friends" with the white witch that dd should bow to her and call greet the white witch as "Her Majesty" - well dd did both and the white witch was very pleased, lol. The White Witch was very much in character but was "nice" to dd and lectured all those in line that this little one knew how to greet royalty. She made a big production out of it. It was hilarious. DD then used this trick since then and even as a teen they still love it when she does it. (Yes even as a teen characters are a must do for her.)

We also had fun with Thor & Captain America when they were meeting in tomorrow land . DD (a teen) was wearing a Thor shirt and so wanted to meet him but they had cut off his line. So we went for Captain america instead. When we got to him - he teased her and asked who her favorite avenger was. She was like "duh" -- Thor but quickly said he was her second favorite. When he found out she wasn't going to get to see Thor he escorted us out and took us to thors line and they let us in. Then he went back. When we got into to Asgard to see Thor we were towards the back. Thor gave his welcome speech and then asked who wanted a photo first - he then saw dds shirt and called her up. He then lectured everyone on how this was the proper way to dress when visiting Asgard. It was really quite funny.

When my DD was 8 she was wearing a Cinderella shirt and we stopped to see the step mother and step sisters. Stepmother kept commenting on the "stain" on her shirt. My DD then told Drizella that she was the prettiest sister, well that ended up with the girls "fighting" and yelling at each other. Was quite fun!!

Two years ago during Halloween time we saw the Evil Queen. I told her I liked her make up and she said I could come by and visit any time.

Cruelly - bark at her
Capt. hook do the tic toc sound

Find if you compliment the Villains they really play into it.

I have three stories.

First, was a few years ago, back when Goofy's Kitchen had a wide variety of characters. We ate a very late dinner there so there weren't a lot of other people. Alice and the Mad Hatter sat on the floor next to our table with our kids and had a tea party - after "arguing" with each other, trying to get the kids to take sides for about 15 mins.

Second was two years ago was in DL when my kids met Chip & Dale. My YDD was dressed in her princess dress and Chip did this whole waltz/dance with her. It was so cute.

Final one was this past June when YDD met Peter Pan. It started as a regular m&g but when Capt Hook showed up, Peter grabbed DD's hand and decided they needed to find a new spot. Hook followed them and PP started making jokes about how bad Hook smelled, etc, blaming DD for saying it (which made my DD roar with laughter). It ended with PP showing DD how to sword fight and then having her fight with her pen and defeat Hook. This one was totally pure luck, but it was so much fun to watch (and yes I got video).

Ariel, back when she was in mermaid form in the shell throne, gave my then 6 year old daughter, Autumn, quite an experience. Ariel asked Autumn where she was from and she said Nebraska.
Ariel said it sounded far away and asked if the swim tired her.
Autumn: oh... no, we flew
Ariel: *looking shocked and impressed* You can FLY??
Autumn: *looking confused* oh no, on a plane.
Ariel: Oh, you're a land princess
Autumn: No, I'm not a princess
Ariel: You are all princesses
It was amazing. :flower1:

A year or two ago when Frontierland was doing the Legends of Frontierland, where you would go on quests and try to get land plots for your team, Frontierland or Rainbow Ridge. Anyways they give you a western name and a name tag, mine was "Wild Squirrel" haha. I had the name tag on and we went to Plaza Inn character breakfast and when Dale came to our table he read my name badge and gave the "what the hell is this?" expression, then he ran over and got Chip and brought him over to show him my squirrel name. Apparently Squirrels and Chipmunks don't get along because Chip was also distraught over my name tag. When we were taking pictures they were trying to block my face and stuff it was really funny!

At the end of breakfast when the characters we all walking out, Dale saw me and flipped my hat off my head, we were all rolling with laughter.

Actually, one more.... even the regular CMs make things fun. We were waiting, amongst a large group of park goers, in front of the door into the tiki room in the blazing sun on a day that was close to 100%, mid day, no shade... Just when it was our turn - a VIP group was ushered in ahead of us... we had to wait again. After about 10 minutes, dreaming about the A/C we knew was just on the other side of that closed door, the crowd was getting antsy. A couple of sweet older ladies behind us, beginning to lose their patience a bit began complaining then said to the guy manning the door, "Aren't you hot??" He said, "I consider myself average looking." Which actually made the large group laugh and the wait seemed a little shorter.

My favorite character memory is from about 10 years ago when DD was 3. At that time, DL wasn't as crowded and we were walking around Main Street, near the fire station. Pluto was DDs fave and he walked up to us. Nobody else around. DD got really shy and smiley and sat on the ground. Pluto started acting the same and sat down just like she did. DD would laugh and cover her eyes and he did the same. He stuck around for atleast 5 minutes, maybe more and nobody else was waiting to see him or walked up. It was adorable and I got some cute pics. Before cell phones, so unfortunately no video of it but I can still remember it clearly as a great memory

I like to mess with the characters. They probably think I'm crazy. I once asked Donald why he doesn't wear pants. He covered his tail feathers with his hands and sheepishly backed away from me. Pluto once took me for a walk at WDW. Several years later, I saw him at DL and reminded him of our "date" and scolded him for not even calling afterward. He covered his eyes with his ears like he was embarrassed. Then he got down on one knee and held my hand like he was proposing. When my DH tried to tell him I was already married, Pluto pushed him aside and took me for another walk.

At the Plaza Inn breakfast, I scolded Captain Hook for always bullying Mr. Smee. He came up behind me and put his hook to my neck. I totally ignored him. He kept trying to get my attention, and my DS was saying, "Mommy! Look behind you!" I told DS, "I don't pay attention to bullies. The best thing to do with bullies is ignore them." Hook put his hands on his hips, shook his head, then went over to DH and started pointing at me like I had wronged him. DH said, "Don't look at me! I'm not helping you."

Ask Rafiki to do Circle of Life. He'll put one foot forward and pretend like he's lifting Baby Simba in the air.

Chip and Dale are also fun to play with. They came up behind my Dad at the table and started pointing at his bald head. My 80-something year old Dad turned around and said, "Hey! How would you guys like to be bald too?" They scurried away, but then kept coming up behind him, tapping him on the shoulder and running, doing funny things behind him. My Dad loved it! Then he called them filthy rodents and they acted all offended, putting their hands on their hips and waving a finger in his face.

One time at Goofy's Kitchen, I asked B'rer Bear where B'rer Rabbit was. He pointed to his stomach. I ordered him to cough up the rabbit immediately! He bent down and belched in my ear! My husband said, "Uh oh! Dude you don't know who you're messing with. You cannot be mean to bunnies around her!" The rest of the time we were there, Bear kept coming over to belch in my ear. Big dork!

We had an amazing character interaction in April 2013. DS is autistic and while he was okay meeting characters when he was younger he was never really into it. Conversation and interactions with others has always been a bit of a challenge.

Anyway, we got to Toontown one morning just after opening and the place was deserted! DS was playing with the barbells and then all of a sudden, Goofy pokes his head around the corner, looking for someone to play with. There was no one in line to meet him and he got bored waiting so he came to find someone. He played with DS for at least 5 or 10 minutes and we got the most amazing set of pictures where he tried to lift the dumbells and failed then he told DS to try. Super cute and an interaction that DH and I will never forget!

I can add another one from today - my kids taught Dr. Facilier all about fidget spinners and tricks you can do. They must have spent 10 mins with him doing it.

Chip & Dale in DCA had me in stitches in October. They first argued over who would sign my book first, so I took one aside and said we get cuddle time first. Then they switched. When it was time to hand back my book, one tried to distract me by pointing in the sky, while the other tried to put my book into my hood of my Maleficent sweater. They had me laughing so hard.

When we took the kids in 2015, we went to the Faire to meet the princesses. When we got to Belle, my youngest DD said, "You're my Dad's favourite!" The CM beside us said, "Oh, he likes to read books too, does he?" I just fell about the place.

Wasn't our children, but we were watching Cruela DeVille interacting with some of the kids, and she said something that just made the wife and I bust up laughing. Cruela looked at us, and without breaking a beat, told us to stop laughing at the children, we'll give them a complex. Needless to say, we were laughing even harder as we walked away.

Also at WDW, we did the galactic dinner meet and greet. Chip & Dale were dressed as Ewoks. Dale took my wife's phone and had to have done at least 10 selfies before giving it back.

We were headed out of the parks for the night when I noticed Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy all meeting together with only ONE person in line. We ran right over. After the guest in front of us was done, the three characters hung out with each other, and were very entertaining. Mickey and Minnie were being romantic and dancing together while Goofy was watching jealously and complaining to the CM. During this time the guest line grew. Then when it was our turn, Minnie ran over to me and got completely overjoyed by my Moana ears I was wearing. She started doing the wayfinder pose and was obviously trying to get me to sing the theme song. (I'm not musically inclined so I just laughed) Eventually all three characters were into the Moana theme of the meet, doing the poses, and acting out the movie together. Minnie eventually got a CM to belt out almost the entire 'How far I'll go' song. By the end a large portion of the guest line was singing out loud along with the CM, and cheered when she finished. It was amazing, and I was crying. No surprise there lol I hoped everyone in that line got as much time, and personality from the characters as we did. Such a great magical moment.

That's amazing! Thank you for sharing those photos!

My kids just got done playing a game of croquet with a ton of characters - White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and Peter Pan. The adults were the croquet posts and the kids were the balls and had to go through them. The Queen of Hearts picked the winner. Super cute!

Pinocchio, Gideon and Honest John were wandering around the same time as well.

My now 16 and 11 year old sons were raised on Peter Pan stories. When they were 10 and 5, we saw Peter Pan playing musical chairs at the Refreshment Center with Alice and the Mad Hatter. My older son at the time was a little too cool to pretend he was a big fan, so he kind of kept his distance during all of this but my younger son went to play the game while the rest of us watched.

Somehow, Peter Pan realized the connection my sons had with the character, and he just sat next to the younger son during the game. Neither of them got up when the music started. The other kids, Alice, and the Mad Hatter played musical chairs around Peter Pan and my youngest son. The Mad Hatter seemed a bit irritated, but Peter Pan and my son just talked and talked and asked for churros and lemonade. Peter Pan also noticed my older son from a distance and kept talking to him. It was really interesting.
