With a day to relax from the parks, what is your favorite FREE thing to do at Disney World?

Just one? In no particular order I love to;

1. See resorts that we haven't stayed at.

3. Hang out by the pool.

4. Walk around Downtown Disney, let the girls play with the Legos.

5. Take a stroll along the path around Seven Seas lagoon at night.

6. Go over to the campground and see the horses in the stables. Maybe catch the campfire and movie under the stars. And...

7. At OKW the quiet pools have grills. One night my family grilled out there (there was over 20 of us and we couldn't agree on where to go for an anniversary dinner) We had a blast playing water football and eating my father-in-law's BBQ.

8. Thinking of OKW, we can go through the whole vacation and not "have" to ride the monorail. I have little ones and that is a big thrill for them! So I'd put riding the monorail on the list.

It's nice to have "off days" to kind of relax and explore. I don't like to have every minute planned. Sometimes (not all times but sometimes) you don't have to spend a fortune to have so much fun at WDW!

I hear the movie/campfire at Ft Wilderness is great but we didn't make it this year.

Walk around the boardwalk! Get on the Friendship boats and ride a circle between MGM & Epcot (you can get on at boardwalk or Swan/Dolphin). Then go eat at ESPN zone (NOT free, haha). But we eat nachos from appetizer menu and that keeps cost down - plus they are great!

Go offsite to the outlets and wander thru the stores. (We go to the ones just above the Marriott Village - about 2 to 3 miles? from DTD).

Ride the bus to AKL and look at the animals from the public viewing area, watch the fireworks and or castle light up from the 14th or is the 15th floor of the Contemporary. You can also see the water parade if you time it right. You can also walk along the beach at the GF or stroll the nature trails at some of the resorts.

We love exploring other resorts, and visiting the town of Celebration. It is really beautiful.

We even did the DVC thing one Sunday and since it was during luch time they gave us vouchers for a free meal at one of the resturants on the Boradwalk.

We love to walk along the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney as well.

We even have a sort of ritual where we go to Epcot through the front gate and pay for our admission, walk through the world showcase and exit out through the international gateway to tour the boardwalk. If you leave within a one hour time frame you can get refunded your admission. I think you can do this at other parks as well, but I have never tried it. We do it because I like to shop at Germany and France. When my kids are a little older we are planning a day trip. I think they call this a shopping pass or something like that, but you do have to pay to get in initially.

My kids love to ride the monorail and look for hidden Mickeys at the resorts as well. It is sort of a scavenger hunt kind of thing.

Without a doubt my favorite free thing to do is to resort hop and see the various resorts. It also gives you kind of a scouting mission for your next visit. During my visit in July 2001 while staying at the Polynesian I went over to check out Wilderness Lodge and ended up staying there this July.
