Have real estate values declined here? If so, have they bottomed out? I couple years ago they seemed really high in some areas. I keep hearing about Atlanta, but I wasn't sure if this is considered Atlanta area.

Real estate values all over metro Atlanta have declined.

Atlanta is IN Fulton county so yes it is most definitely metro Atlanta. The county is weird bc North Fulton has a ton of luxury suburban homes but south metro is a little sketchy. Areas like Roswell, Alpharetta, John's Creek, Sandy Springs and Buckhead are super nice. College Park & East Point um... not so much.
 
What part of Fulton County are you looking at?

I am in North Fulton. Ours have declined somewhat but not that much.

As to the question if it has bottomed out? Who knows? I hope not but as I said, we have declined somewhat in value but not drastically like some areas.

I have friends in sandy springs and they paid a ton for a place at the end of 2007 which now is worth about 2/3s what they paid. Plus the community still has a ton of inventory and the prices of those have come down way below the original selling prices.
 
Prices here were completely out of control for quite sometime. I fought my property taxes each year anticipating the bottom would fall out which it did. My taxes are what they should be while my neighbors are boo-hooing becuase they could not sell their homes for what they are valued at. They were too lazy to ever fight, and they are still too lazy to fight now all they do is whine.
There are not many homes on the market and the few that are for sale,well if they do not sell within 2 months they will sit and sit. Prices they say are back to what they were in 2001.

I can't say if it has bottomed out yet, I just know nothing is selling and not many people in my neighborhood are even trying.

I should add I am Fulton County
