Full size alamo question

So, last night I booked a full sized car with alamo as it was the exact same price as the standard (and the rates had dropped). I understand that the full size cars share the same row as the standard vehicles. What happens if there are no full sized on the aisle?

And, what cars do they consider full sized?

they will have full size on the row, if they don't speak to someone in the booth and they will get you one or offer a substitute vehicle, which will be in a higher class. Standard and full size share the same row at MCO as they don't have a separate section for standard, but, they do have standard cars.
They have impalas (18.5 cf trunks), altimas, camrys, and a few others, which escape me at the moment.

We rented a full size with Alamo recently at MCO and they had the Camry, Altima, Impala and Chrysler 200. We selected a Camry. The car was spotless inside and out.

The nice thing about Alamo is that you can select your own car and they are located on the first floor of the ramp. You don't need to drag your luggage up the escalator to find your car. Drop-off was just as easy.

The Chrysler 200 is a "standard" car, not full size. They put both standards and full size in the same row at Alamo.

I just rented a full size and ended up with a standard for the full price. My fault I didn't go in and see what was going on. My flight was seven hours late coming in and I wanted to just get to the hotel. However they knew I had rented a full and should have told me that the only thing they had left was standards.

What did you rent? How much of a price difference was there, if any? They are usually the same price. If not, contact Alamo and I am sure they will refund the difference.
Ya know, not everyone is a mind reader. Lots of people book one size and take another. Cars change every few minutes and the greeters have no way of knowing what is available on any particular row at any particular time. The counter agents have no way of knowing what is available as the inventory changes second to second.

It was SFB not MCO so they walked me to the row so I'm thinking that they knew. It was also 10 at night and not much going on. That is all they had left. I will look to see if there is a price difference. Not that it matters anymore, if I book with them again I will be making sure I get what I booked.

What did you end up with? They walk you to the row at MCO also, but, trust me, after spending 8 hours walking back and forth, you really don't notice what is there. All you see are vehicles.
Not sure what they do at SFB, never worked there. and, I am not entirely sure if they blend standards and full size there. But, what I am sure of is that if you don't find something you like they will try their hardest to make sure you are satisfied. That is what they are there for, at least one of the reasons.

Arrived yesterday at MCO and walked down the full size aisle. There weren't a whole lot of cars to choose from but we did see an Impala, several Equinoxes and a Dodge Journey. We ended up with the Journey.

There were three Chrysler 200 and some kind Toyota left in the row. I picked one of the Chryslers. Had to put the two out of four bags in the pack seat. If my husband had been there too we would not have fit in the car. My husband is 6 foot 8 and my son is 6 foot 5. That is why I always book a full size and need one.

We rented recently from Tampa (where its the same as Orlando- the 2 aisles are combined) and we saw many choices (although the area was much smaller than Orlando)- a Camary, an couple Impalas, a Chrysler 200, and a Kia Optimina.

We chose the Kia this time- as it was white and many of the other cars were dark in color (which means they get even hotter in FL!). The Kia fit all of our luggage fine (4 small rolling suitcases- 1 large suitcase, 4 backpacks)- with 2 adults and 2 kids. The only thing I did not like about the car was the front passenger seat was very low to the ground with no way to adjust- drivers seat was literally 5 to 6 inches higher!

In april we rented from Alamo at MCO and chose a Camary- it was nice. We own a Camary and we love it. We also saw many choices- many impalas, a couple of camarys- some Chrysler 200'and one small looking minivan thing (but it wasnt really a van or I would of jumped on it!).

Several times we have gotten Impala's from Alamo in MCO- they DO fit the most luggage in this class!

Edited to add I have never not seen at least 1 fullsize on the combined row at MCO (or an upgrade)- we fly there a couple times a year as we also have family in the area in addition to loving Disney.

HTH

So if they put standard and full size on the same row, how can you tell which is which?

What if you book a standard and take a full size? I know it sounds stupid, but I can tell you I doubt I will know the difference :confused3

on the window there is a sticker with a upc code. On the bottom right of that sticker there will be a letter followed by numbers. The letter tells you what the car classification is. IE: f=full size, s=standard, I=midsize, L=luxury, P=premium.
Hope this helps.

The Toyota was probably a Camry, which is a full size car. The Chrysler 200 is a standard car. Next time, ask for a full size car, they will find you one.

That would not matter since they combine the two. If you book a standard at MCO (an apparently Tampa) they combine them, so, you always select from the full size row and take whatever you like from that row.
