Wahoo!!! I made ressies for the end of Sept. while the FW train car would be there to surprise DH. Anyway, this will be the 1st time that we will be putting up a tent in addition to the RV. Knew I didn't want a premium site due to the concrete pad, and didn't want preferred due to the fact that we need a pet loop and the 300 loop sites are tight, so I opted for a full hookup site. Is my thinking right on this? We did include all this info(rv,tent, dog) on the reservation, but thought you guys might have some specific site suggestions.

Yes, I would say your thinking is right on this.

It seems that the 1700 loop is the favorite of the Fort Fiends.

I personally prefer the 1600 loop, because it has access to two comfort stations and bus stops, and is closer to the pool. But, 1700 feels less crowded, and I understand why folks would prefer it- especially if the comfort stations or pool access are not significant factors to them.

You chose wisely, young M1tchells!!

I agree with TCD. 1600 has the advantage of closeness to bus stops and comfort stations. Also, if you snag a site from 1630 through 1638, you are basically a short walk from Meadows Pool. :thumbsup2

We always try to get 1700 primarily for sentimental reasons. Each of the full hook-up loops have their pluses. If you like seclusion, then ask for 1800 or 1900. If you want to be closer to the action, ask for 1600 or 1700.

Love my full hook-up loops!! (Formerly known as "the doggie loops")

Well just look at my "TAG" and you will see what we prefer and Deb is spot on for the CS, bus stop and Meadows access.

We have stayed in both the 1600 and 1800 loops in the past but it has been a while...and never with both the rv and tent in same site. I know it is allowed....but is it really possible? I was thinking that maybe one of the sites by the canal might have some more space. Can anyone suggest a specific site or two that might accomodate both?

Just about any site in all 4 loops. There are two or three sites on 1800 that back up to the canal that the actual sites are very short. Avoid the 1900 loop.

I stand by my original statement.... try to snag any site from 1630 through 1638, or any site on 1700. :thumbsup2

Got it! :thumbsup2 Thanks everyone! We haven't been able to get down there in a while and when I heard about the train car and then realized it was the start of the F&W Fest...well, I had my perfect excuse! Hopefully nothing comes up to spoil my plans!

We liked the 900 loop when we stayed there a couple months ago enough to request it when we go in October with our adult children, friends, and our surrogate grandchildren. The only problem was backing the TT into the site. It was just before a turn in the road and the people across from us had parked a car almost in the road to give them more play space. Was a very stressful back-up for us inexperienced TT travelers.

1900 is too tiny and it floods every time it rains three drops

i love 1700 because of the room you have on the sites...

if you are going to stay full hook up 1600 or 1700, but 1700 is my favorite

What are people's opinions on loop 900? We stayed there and really liked it.

I like the 900 loop. My only dislike is that when it rains, the entrance to the loop goes underwater. Makes for sloppy GC & bike riding. They knew of this problem before they upgraded the loop to premium and I've never understood why they didn't fix the roadway at the same time they were upgrading the sites. :confused3

LOL some years ago I often thought about fishing between some of sites in the 1900 loop after a good rain.
