Hi folks, Hope I've put this question in the right post..I watched a couple arriving at MK on their holiday video and they bought a fuel rod for their I phone at a shop opp the emporium ...It costs $30 and it comes with cord and attachments for various I phones..When the charger requires renewing you just take it back. Pop it in the fuel rod machine, and a new one comes out..Myself and my son will use our I phone 5 at night when we dine out, but my wife wants to take her I phone 4 out during the day...Has anyone used this Fuel Rod that you can buy at Disney.?

If you go to the FuelRod website, you can get it for $25, so a little bit of a discount. The things are brand spanking new so you will be one of the early adopters!

I bought one right now. And as AP I think this is convenient. My phone was at 2% and I panicked. This came through. Should have I researched and bought one cheaper and better sure. But I don't regret it on the way out I will swap. And leave in our Disney luggage for future use.

Huh, had to go look at the website -- that's kind of an interesting idea. I've been shopping for an external battery for my phone and I'm still just going to get one off of Amazon once I settle on a brand, but if I lived somewhere I could swap these things it might be worthwhile to get the service and not have to worry about buying a battery and having it lose its effectiveness, since you could just swap it if it wasn't working great.

Amazon has some for $10 that are supposed to be good. Just for perspective. I had 2% and it charged up to 85% may not seem as much but I was using the phone the whole time taking pics and using MDE app. And a little bit of Polemon go. Lol.

TheTimTracker has been using one on his vlogs and they look pretty convenient. The ease of being able to exchange a dead charger for a fully charged one anytime in the park makes the value seem worth it. With any other kind, eventually you're going to need to charge the charger.

$30 isn't really a great price and you can find smaller and stronger for a fraction of the price.

Where the fuel rod is really great is the fact you can swap it for a charged one and it's not disney specific. You can find these vending machines in several airports and other popular travel locations (very large train stations). Very handy for the commuter or regular traveler where you may not have the time to charge it up again. The other place this is really handy is it's where you need it. You may not have the time or desire to sit around charging outlets and it's there and fully charged and quick to get and start using. They aren't all over the parks though, you may not find them next to where you are.

If you think you need or want this or wish you had one for home/work, buy one before you get there for less money. I like the ankler brand and have many of them but the last year or two, any brand is usually a great choice if you watch for sales.

this looks like a great idea, as others have said you can swap and charge at any point, i personally bought a mi one and been very happy with it, i can charge a iphone 6 and 6plus from very not much to full on oth and still have a bit left, so i do recommend them, but the convince of the fuel rod idea sounds good, will keep an eye on this for my trip next year

How many times are you able to swap these out?? I was thinking that if you could do it a couple of times a day, maybe twice, it would for sure be worthwhile. But people don't seem to be too excited about these. I'm wondering what I'm missing about this concept...

** I don't already have an extra battery pack or anything

I am planning on getting one at my local airport - they are $20 there. Online $25 because of shipping. You swap as often as you need or want. I have a charger that is really good but like a brick and my cable is so dang long it is kind of a pain. With this and the small cable it comes with it might be handy. Gonna try it anyway end of September.

I was excited. It worked great and each park has at least two stations. So if you're at WDW for multiple days this is a great investment. IMO
