Fudge

How awful it must have been to realize that you left the fudge in the car! That actually sounds like something I would do, and I probably would if we weren't bringing a cooler to store snacks and drinks for our ride to DLR. I might try the rocky road fudge if it has almonds. I'm not a big fan of walnuts in chocolate brownies or fudge. I also once saw a picture of mint chocolate fudge that looked really good so I will probably get that if it's available.

Oh, and I live in the SF bay area. Strangely enough, I have lived in California all my life and I have never heard of your city. :confused3 Where is it located?

Sorry! I didn't mean to tempt you, just wanted some info! :lmao: Just keep on dancing! :thumbsup2

We are off 12, drive down 80 towards Sac and you pass thru the truck scales in Cordelia, right after take the 12 exit and you pass thru Fairfield until you go past PA Ave, then drive up over the overpass and come down and on that side you're in Suisun. We are sister cities with Fairfield. DBF works in Berkeley and I work in Benicia. :)

Good to know! You are farther up north than I am. I was born and raised in San Jose, the big city that hardly anyone knows.

Awesome! I hope you enjoy your fudge! I know I will! :goodvibes

I really am sad to say it..but i just will never buy the prepackaged candy again at disneyland. We bought alot to take home as gifts..and it was OLD. we spent a pretty penny on it all, too.

If there is fresh.. we will gladly buy a bunch.

However never ever never will the prepackaged candy {fudge, english toffee or taffy} go home with us again.

That said... i LoVe DisneyLand and am soooOOOoo HaPpPy to be going this weekend!

Oh we never buy prepackaged stuff, only fresh. It's so much better fresh. I've already got a list of "junk" I'm going to try to eat in just about a week. lol

Okay, this gets confusing so hang with me to the end:

Last week I went to the Candy Store on Main Street to pick up some fudge for mom as part of her Mom's Day surprises.

I went to the glass cases where I have gotten fudge before. I was told they didn't sell it in that section anymore, only pre-packaged. I said, "So it's not fresh anymore?" She said, "Oh no, it is. We make it on site, but it's pre-packaged for sale now." She then walked me over to the other area and told me the fudge was in the pre-packaged packages by the register.

I could not find any fudge there so I asked the CM at the register. She told me that the pre-packaged items to the LEFT were all made on-site and were fresh. There was no fudge there. She said they were out (it was the end of the night). She the directed me to the right of the register.

There, I found pre-packaged fudge. However, it was very clearly marked that it was made in WDW. So I asked.

Another CM said that it was freshly made at WDW and then shipped to all the various Parks. I asked if any fudge was made on-site at DL anymore and she said, "On the left" - where there was none to be found. :( So... no fudge for Mom last Sunday.

There's the fudge scoop, from the Candy Store on Main Street anywho. Made fresh at DL on the left. Made fresh and shipped from WDW on the right.

I know this thread is from a while back, but I just saw it and thought everyone should hear the answer I got when I asked about fresh fudge.

I was told at Marceline's in DTD that in order to comply with the new nutritional guidelines dealing with trans-fats, they had to pull the fresh fudge while they re-worked the recipe.

The CM told me that Knott's Berry Farm uses the same fudge recipe, so they might still be making it fresh.

They did not know of an ETA for bringing it back, or even if they were for sure.

When I had purchased the pre-packaged fudge in the past, it wasn't stuff that had been on the shelf for sometime, but just fudge made that day and then packed to go.

Goodness... fudge has to meet nutritional guidelines for trans-fats now ???!?! Fudge is not something I eat for it's nutritional values (though isn't chocolate one of the main food groups :) ) Can't some items be left alone to be what they are? We know fudge isn't a healthy food choice. Next thing you know they will be posting the calories, carabs and grams of fat right next to the display case...

I may have to picket at the DLR candy shops if they don't have our fudge ready for us when we arrive?

WHAT??????NOOOOOOOOO!!!! I want my fudge. First Illuminations, now this,,,how much more can a girl take! I understand the need to make healthy options because I am on totally into the healthy eating at home,BUt when I go on vacation I would like the opportunity to splurge. That , to me,is part of the experience!
Well, looks like I will for sure be making a side trip to Gardenwalk to...drumroll please...Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory..OH yeah!! They have yummy fudge there!

Wouldn't Knott's fall under the same nutritional guidelines? If so, they probably don't have it either. :(
