Ft. Wilderness here we come!

Glad everything has been safe, even though you have had a little trouble. Keep your chin up and you will be there soon. Have a great time.

Here's hoping for boring, boring, boring tomorrow... a "gosh, I'm so bored I'll take a nap" kinda day:faint: After that a happy, happy, joy, joy kinda 11 days! :mickeyjum :donald: :thumbsup2: (notice that I'm green?... envy)

Enjoy!

Have you arrived yet? Sorry to hear about the tire. Hope it didn't delay your trip too much!

Ugh, sorry to hear about the tire! I hope you guys have arrived safely! Have a great time!

Any travel advisories (construction) for PA?? We went last August (07) and it took us an extra 2 hours just going through the state. We hit construction as soon as we left NY and entered PA.

Thanks all

We made it to Kingsland, GA...I'm glad we arrived late and we're leaving early! This campground is LOUD with insects. It's raining so I have an excuse to get in the camper away from the bugs! :rotfl2: The water stinks of sulfer here too...I can't say I recommend this KOA!

Our drive today was uneventful, woo hoo! It seemed a lot longer than yesterday though...even though it was about the same driving distance. We had our spare repaired for peace of mind.

PA Driving...we didn't encounter any construction in any of PA, but we were traveling on a Saturday. I don't know how it would be on a weekday...or during the night time since I think they do alot of work at night. The only construction we encountered was in GA and it wasn't active either, just set up for work tomorrow I'm sure.

We will be at the Fort by noon tomorrow! YAY! I'm hoping this Fay storm doesn't affect us too much. We have ponchos so a little rain won't stop us! Thanks for all the well wishes. No pics today because I was running too fast from the LOUD (probably billions) of bugs that might fall on me at this campground to stop and take a photo!

I work out of cetnral PA, but our 'area' is from NY boarder, NJ boarder to about State College, PA. Mostly north of I-80, so if you're traveling through any of that, and let me know when, I can give you a little bit of a heads up;).

already. We pulled in at 1pm this afternoon, set up camp, had an early dinner, and headed to Epcot. We had some normal afternoon rain showers but it stopped raining completely by the time we got to Epcot. Crowds weren't too bad...we didn't try TT and Soarin' today though. I think my kids had the most fun trying to catch the jumping fountains!

We came back from Epcot and the kids got Mickey ice cream bars at the Meadows and we relaxed in the rocking chairs on the porch while they ate them. Then headed back to the camper...we are in the 200 loop which is what we requested. It's a great loop, very quiet so far and not too far from the bus stop. DH said the comfort stations are AWESOME. The kids were exhausted so we put them to bed and stepped outside to see Wishes going off through the trees with the soundtrack coming from the 300 loop. I was in heaven...it is just so awesome to be able to see Wishes from our camper and hear it at the same time. It's wonderful to return from the parks and relax in our own "home" away from home, with the kids in their own beds. I am just loving all of this!!!:cloud9:

Disney is preparing for Tropical Storm Fay...we received a note on our camper door about some park adjustments. They will be opening all four parks at 8am tomorrow in anticipation of some early closures. They are also opening Disney Quest at 9am and the AMC theaters will offer movies starting at 10am. So we will be getting up very early to hit MK! And if we are all tired we will nap during the rainy afternoon. The awning is down and chairs are put away in anticipation. We're still hoping that this storm will not be too bad!

Yea! You're there!!!

I don't anticipate problems for you, but if Fay does become stronger they might pull you out of FtW and place you in rooms over at POR to keep everyone safe. Just be prepared because if they do tell you to evacuate - you really, really, REALLY want to be one of the first ones out the gate. You'd be surprised at the traffic jam you can get in that campground when everyone tries to leave at once, not to mention the 3 hour long check-in line at POFQ/POR. :rotfl:

Ok, now onto the important stuff... where's the pics!!! Please please please?

It was a bit rainy and breezy at times today. That kept things nice and comfortable, not too hot. The storm was really nothing here. We practically had the run of the Magic Kingdom...rode nearly everything and some things 3 times. I guess most people were scared to come out but we figured it wasn't any worse than sitting in our camper. It was a wonderful day! In Monsters Inc Laugh Floor my DH was "That Guy". Too funny! And they had a short parade at noon and there was so much open space to watch it. My DS5 got to give a lot of characters 5...and Captain Hook "hook" :rotfl2: I will post pictures as soon as I get them down loaded. We're exhausted because we were in MK from 9am to 6pm...taking advantage of the low crowds and cooler weather. And we all loved the boat ride to MK and back...just can't beat that!

It sounds like the worst part of the storm is over us right now...heavier rains and a little windier. Tomorrow should be business as usual around here, according to the soaking wet note from Ft. Wilderness that we found on our windshield.

Find myself anxiously awaiting you updates daily! Glad all is going well and that Fay left you alone to enjoy MK!

The rain is really relentless today. We made it to Epcot this morning at 9am and rode Soarin' and a few other rides. Apparantly when the going gets tough, the tough go to Epcot though. I think everyone in WDW was there! We left at 1pm and people were still pouring in. It was VERY rainy and crowded so we decided to get out and we'll go back later if the rain lets up a bit (we have some fastpasses saved up). We went back to the camper and had a nice lunch. Now the kids are in their specific areas playing their DSs, enjoying some "seperation time" (we can't do THAT in a hotel room!). So DH and I are enjoying a couple of beers and I have some time to post some pictures! I don't have many pictures of Ft. Wilderness YET because the weather hasn't been cooperative. We did notice that 500 loop is gated off and lots of work is being done. Loop 1500 had a ton of water. And at least the 1400 loop is completely empty...not crowded here at all. Most people are in loops 100, 200, and 300.

Arrival day...The boys relaxing at our site

Epcot, my DS5 pitching a good fit. I've decided to photograph my children everytime they have a tantrum in WDW. This helps me keep my sense of humor!

And here is DS9 in front of the Dumbo wait sign...10 minute wait so I had to have a photo because who knows when I'll see that again! It was more of a 5 minute wait.

Well, back to my beer! Thanks for reading! I hope to have more pics of Ft. W. SOOOOOON! (rain rain go away)

I'm loving your report! Hope the weather clears for you soon!!

Leslie

Enjoy your drink and relaxing time! You're soooooo right...you can't do that at a resort with the kiddo's!

I hope the rain goes away quickly! Have fun!

So today it (drum roll please)....RAINED! We knew it was going to be rainy again so we took the morning off, let the kids sleep in, made a big breakfast, and relaxed. DS6 and I took a nice walk during a brief period of sunshine...
FloridaTripPix078.jpg

There was a lot of standing water...this was the 400 loop...
FloridaTripPix073.jpg

We also saw that they are apparantly refurbishing a playground...fence around it warning us to stay away.

At around 1pm we headed off to the park formerly known as MGM. It started raining again but not too bad yet. We did the Great Movie Ride and then went to our ADR at the Sci Fi. It was DS9 special birthday lunch. He picked the place. It was great! Great food and service. Only problem was that DS9 was too distracted by the huge movie screen to eat in a timely manner!

After lunch we took the boys on the Backlot tour. DS5 had never been on it and he started screaming at the canyon, thinking it was real! Here's his little panic stricken face:

We were able to ride Star Tours twice, and Rockin Roller Coaster twice...DS9 first time on that one and it's his new favorite ride! I'm so proud of him for trying it. After that the rain REALLY started coming down so we headed back to the Fort. When we got to the Outpost there were hords of confused wet people trying to figure out how to get to the HDDR. We gave them friendly advice and then let them pack themselves onto 2 buses like sardines. We decided to wait 5 minutes for the next bus :thumbsup2 and had it practically to ourselves. The kids are in bed and the rain is really coming down! I'm hoping for a slightly nicer day tomorrow. I'm getting kind of sick of being soggy!

Naomi,

I'm really enjoying your live TR! Sounds like another great day despite the rain! The 400 loop actually looks much better than I expected. There was that much rain or more in that loop in April!

I'm glad they are refurbing the playground! My girls will be happy to see that! (This is the one close to 300 loop right?)

I hope you guys have some sunshine today! Looking forward to more pics! :thumbsup2

Not sure what to expect now with that weather.. Any concerns?? we are staying at the cabins

I can't wait to get home so I can see your pictures.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us it makes me look forward to our trip in October even more!

We'll do a little rain dance:  :cool1: :worship: :yay: :cheer2:

Best Wishes! :hippie:

I am living vicariously through you. I wish I was there too. Keep your report coming!

This morning I really wanted to be at MK for opening. I had every intention of making it. However...DS6 woke up in the middle of the night with a sick tummy (not used to eating this much junk food...no virus thank goodness!) so that was strike one. Plus, at 7am I woke up and the rain coming down on the roof of our camper was SO loud that I couldn't even hear our own air conditioning unit running. I decided that park opening really wasn't THAT important and we all slept in. We saw that the weather was supposed to clear a little in the afternoon and sure enough, around 11am it did. We set out for the MK and had a pleasant afternoon. We were able to do quite a few things despite the late start. Crowds were manageable with the use of Fastpass. DS5 only had two meltdowns and that is because he refuses to ride Splash and BTMRR, so he had to WAIT. He can really turn on the drama, carrying on about how bored he is, poor pathetic little thing.

At around 7pm the skies opened up and the rain came down. We had our cheapo ponchos on and they were just sticking to us. Our skin is all wrinkley from being constantly damp. And DS5 has the WORST smelling feet ever. Which he thinks is hillarious. "Mommy what smells?" "That's your feet, honey." "MY FEET????" and gales of belly laugher follows. Why anyone would find their own stinky feet funny is beyond me. And it's all because his sandles just can not get dry. So tip for the day...."remember to bring Lysol to spray stinky shoes with". I can't stress that enough.

Supposedly tomorrow will be dryer still. I'm really looking forward to not feeling like an old stale and soggy soup cracker.

ETA...this morning our laptop was pretty much dead. We thought it was gone for good but it turns out that it was just a result from all of this HUMIDITY! So if you don't hear from me in awhile, no worries. I'll just have to wait for the computer to dry out and I'll be back.
