We are planning on doing HDDR in mid-December and I would like to book the holiday sleigh ride on the same evening. Sunset will be at 5:32 pm on the evening of our reservations. I'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the best time to do the sleigh ride?

We currently have the 6:15 pm HDDR booked, so, if there is availability (I haven't called yet!), we could theoretically do a 5:30 pm sleigh ride followed by HDDR. I'm just concerned it won't be dark enough yet to enjoy the decorations. Doing it after the show isn't really a good option for us as DS10 will inevitably be tired and will want to go back to the resort.

The other option would be to switch to the 4:00 pm HDDR and do the sleigh ride after. If we did that, do you think we could make a 6:00 pm carriage ride? Or is it better to book for 6:30 pm. I'm kind of leaning toward doing the 4:00 pm HDDR with the carriage ride after, but would love to hear others experiences if you've done these activities back-to-back.

Thanks for any feedback you may have!

We've not done the sleigh ride but we have done HDDR in mid-December at the 6:15 seating and it was quite dark by the time we went into the hall. When the sun sets that time of year, it sets fast! So I think your plans could work either way. It might be tough to make a 6:00 sleigh ride from the 4:00 show but not impossible. I'd call and check availability, then plan from there. Sounds fun! We love HDDR and I think DS would love the sleigh ride too.

I would change to the 4 pm show if you can so you don't run the risk of being late to your show plus to ensure it is dark enough to enjoy the decorations.
