I was trying to get my ADR's this morning and having no luck...so frustrated I was yelling at the screen and then

the surprise.....trying to get Crystal Palace for breakfast and guess what came up??

Yep Cinderella's royal table!

So instead we will be dining in the castle, which is something I have always wanted to do....:cool1:

has this happened to anyone else, I know this is hard to get so I was shocked.

I don't think the castle books as fast anymore, with the economy the way it is seems like less people are willing to shell out so much for one meal. Hope you have fun there...:thumbsup2

Great for you!!!

I was trying to get Tusker House and I noticed that CRT was avail everytime I tryed to get Tusker, thankfully I was able to book Tusker House, I am happy for you!!!

I have found it just as hard to get CRT as it ever was!! Besides on the dp you already paid for it!! On Deluxe it is easy to spend the credits on CRT.

I was online checking out other ressies and happen to come across CRT dinner at 50 days out. That's never happened before!

CRT uses 2TS credits. Many people think there are far better meals to be had for those 2TS credit. Count me among them. We've quit going there although it used to be a must do for us.

It is much, much easier to book CRT than it used to be. 2TS credits and lack of value for those credits is the reason why.

I hope you enjoy it. It's nice to do once. But, the pleasure is gone for us now due to the rush 'em in, run the princesses around in a marathon, rush 'em out approach they use now.

Character interaction was almost nonexistent on our last visit. Snow White spent no more than 30 seconds with my niece -- not even enough time for a picture.

I disagree with it being easier based on our May 2009 trip. I called at 7:00 a.m. the 1st day I could, and they only had one opening at one time for breakfast or lunch the entire week we were there- a 2:20 lunch on a day we weren't going to MK. I took it, but called in I don't know how many times before our trip to try to get a better time and I never could. I was calling daily for quite a while at certain times. I'm sure there have always been a lot of people who cancel based on cancelling trips or other things. I think some people get lucky and call at the right time, and now with the online system I think it is easier to check more often and pick up the cancellations.

I'm sorry to hear you felt rushed with the characters and didn't get much time with Snow White. We loved CRT!! We had a bad Cinderella downstairs (clearly exhausted and not friendly at all- my 3 year old DD dubbed her a fake because the real Cinderella was busy in toontown), but the Princesses upstairs were wonderful with DD. We did not feel rushed at all. I would put it up there as maybe or at least equal to the best character meal interaction we have had on our 2 trips with DD and we've done a lot of character meals. Snow White spent a long time on the floor with DD. They had a full conversation about apples and made wishes on the wishing star together. Of course, part of that may be that the 2:20 ADR was one of the last lunch seatings and parts of the restaurant were staring to clear out so they did not have a ton of other tables to see before being done for the day.

Love the CASTLE. And it does book up fast. I think you got lucky .
Have fun :thumbsup2

We have past experiences with dining at the Castle to compare our last visit with. The experience has declined significantly, which is why we won't go back. I guess those who haven't done the Castle more than 3 years ago, have nothing to compare it to so it seems okay.

I absolutely felt rushed when our group included my parents who are elderly and handicapped and a hostess came over to our table and said, "You've got to get seated, now!" I replied, "My parents are elderly and handicapped and it takes as long as it takes. Please leave us alone."

Why the rush? This was lunch by the way. Because the whole presentation is now timed like an amusement ride.

It consists of line 'em up for pictures, seat 'em, serve 'em, run the princesses 'round the room, clear the room and repeat. We were in the last seating for lunch and it didn't seem to help at all. If anything, CMs were more eager than ever to get people seated, served and out of there!

We were totally disappointed with the princess character interaction. Comparing the whole experience to 3 or more years ago it was pathetic.

Plus our boys used to love visiting with David -- their favorite waiter. The waiters are now so busy running and trying to get the meal served and removed in the limited time available, that they have no time for small talk. David used to have time to trade pins with the boys, etc. Not any more.

It used to be that we could get prime rib at lunch. Now that it's a set meal on a clock, that's not possible. We asked about rolls and were told, "Those are only served at dinner now".

So, in sum our visit a few months ago was a total and complete disappointment. So much so that I told the manager we won't be back and we won't.

For those who've enjoyed it -- I'm glad. We were truly disappointed. And, comparing it to our lunches in the past was particularly sad.
