Frustrating MCO Security Experience

I realize the real money is from business travel so I fear the answer will be the expansion of priorty security line access for frequent flyers and the average joe on vacation will continue to suffer through ridiculous lines crowded with people carrying the entire contents of their homes as carry-on.

That image is perfect! :lmao:

I don't notice the bag phenomenon in security lines as much as I do when I board a plane with one bag, and I'm told I'll have to check it because those same people are taking up the all bin space in row 7 while they sit back in row 24. :confused3 A big part of why I choose my seats well-ahead of time near the front of the plane is to grab my bag and get the heck off quickly. If I could afford business class more often, I'd do it.

MCO has a woefully inadequate queue post TSA checkpoint on either left or right side compared to airports 1/10th their size (case in point - PVD has longer pre and post TSA queues with separation so you are not on top of people and being herded like cattle).

Given how large the atrium is at MCO, it's time to move the TSA checkpoints further out into the atrium and make real line queues to the scanners.

Sorry to the PP that always takes the "experienced" traveler line, but I find more newbies in that line than any other (the ones wearing every piece of metal jewelry they own, unclear on taking off sneakers and belts, etc.).

I really feel sorry for inexperienced flying customers. Those of us who have flown for years have had time to adjust to the myriad changes in security.

Maybe they should implement fast passes and interactive queues to help make things go by more quickly.

:lmao: Oh that was a smarty pants comment and right up my ally.

I am sorry you did not enjoy the experience but I am getting so tired of people complaining about everything. for goodness sakes, step out of the line a little and breathe.

I have absolutely no idea what security was thinking!

.

You are giving them to much credit! Thinking??? :lmao:

They were thinking that the real point of their existence is to harass travelers. Any real secuirty is a myth!

For a small fee you can join Clear. MCO is the reason I joined oriignally and Thank Goodness it's backed. MCO is possibly the WORST run airport I go to (and I spend a lot of time in some bad airports, LAX comes to mind!)

We always use the expert traveler security line and have had a wait of 10 minutes only once in about 10 trips. We usually sail right through. If you know what you are supposed to do at a security check point, this is the way to go at MCO.

I think it's closed. replaced by Clear. (Which is better since the last time I used it the "Expert' apparently last flew in 1980. Had full size shampoo, emptied his pockets ONE at a time etc... :confused3)
