Hi, I booked my first DL trip back in January for May 25 - June 5. Since then, I have had so many disappointments I don't know what to do. My original flight has been changed to a red eye (only nonstop available now), I missed the POTC 3 Premier by a weekend, I am missing the opening of Nemo by 6 days, Fantasmic is closed while we are there, and now I see grad nights will be occuring while we are there. Will grad nights interfere with the regular hours? Also, any speculation on Fantasmic or the Pirate Island? Is it possible Fantasmic could be running while we are there? Does anyone know the suspected opening date of the Pirate's Lair? I really want our first trip to DL to be great, but it is not looking good so far. I have been to WDW several times and have never seen so many things closed that we would like to experience. Sorry if I am being negative I just need a little pixie dust thrown my way I guess. :confused3

well, i dont know how a Priemere works but i think they are locking down the entire park down.

for one, not even I can get into the park on that day. :\

Fantasmic return date is set at June 15th.
the Pirate lair is set at May 28th.

I feel your pain. DH is really disappointed that Spalsh Mtn will be closed when we go, but it's not a big deal to me. I was frustrated about the railroad being down, and Fantasmic! :sad1:

I guess you have to decide what the deal-breaker is. My deal-breaker would be Space Mtn. being down. That, to me, would ruin a great trip.

While it sounds like a lot- if you break it down its not:
The flight is not Disney's fault, and if you went with a flight with a stop you might avoid the red eye. My guess is, the red eye is getting you in early in the day which could be viewed as a good thing!

The island looks like it will be open while you are there.

IIRC, Grad nights don't do much to normal park operation. They are on weeknights in the middle of the night. They do somewhat effect early entry, but that is about it.

If you were there for the pirates premier it would mess with your trip A LOT. Unless you were really hoping to go for the premier, be happy you are missing it by a week. The park has crazy hours for it, and you would spend most of your day sitting on mainstreet holding down a spot.

While its disappointing you are missing Nemo, they have said for a year now "Summer 2007". If you really wanted Nemo, you should have planned a trip for the fall. That is not really Disney's fault.

The only thing you are really missing is F!. In the whole big picture of the trip its not that bad. You'll have more nights to watch the fireworks!

The only real cure is start planning your next trip!

There was a lot of things closed during our trip in Feb., including Fantasmic and splash and to be honest we did just great. There was no way we could "do it all" anyway and it would of just made us pound the pavement more. We are going back in May because to do the things that we missed and F and Splash will still be down. We missed the parades, Tiki room, Aladdin, etc. in Jan. I say go for it. I don't think you will miss any of the rides and shows that are down because there is so much to do.

Completely ditto Hlbtimes2!!! And you will still have a fabulous time!! Grad nights DL closes at 9pm and DCA stays open later so just work it to your advantage!!

I just wanted to say I did not mean to give the inclination that I was blaming Disney. I could never blame Disney  . It was just a run of bad luck for me on some things that we wanted to do. As I said before it will be our first trip to DL and probably won't make it back for a few years as we will return to WDW. Anyhow, I was just venting and thanks all for listening lol. Just remember There's a great big beautiful tomorrow. Shining at the end of every day.

I am so sorry that you will be missing those things you wanted to do!! I originally was planning on DH's and my first trip to be for Spring Break . . . but when I looked on mouseplanet and saw Splash would be out and other things, we decided to wait til mid/late June to be sure we could see it all. I hope things get done sooner so you can see them!!
