Frustrated with Disney Website

so the browser DUCK DUCK GO seems to work. Hooray. Crossing fingers it continues and doesn't get 'stuck' like the others.

While I am no software engineer, I will say that I think it is fair to say that Disney's site - where hotel reservations are concerned - is horrific. For me, it has not worked in over two months. not on my computer, different computers at work, friends' computers, airport computers... Not with Explorer, Safari, Google/Google Chrome, or Firefox. I have tried not logging into my account, clearing my cache ad nauseum, using incognito mode - you name it. Nothing has worked.

I have tried every browser, many different computers, incognito mode, clearing my cache - literally nothing works now. Sadly, I don't have time to call in to talk with cast members, with the result that we had planned two trips down before the end of the year and I don't think either will happen now.

It is a terrible website and I don't think there's any excuse for issues to occur daily, hourly, and every time you visit. In 2018 you shouldn't have to jump through hoops (different browser!, clear cache!, log in/out!, etc) to find what you need. Anyone who uses Expedia and Priceline knows that other travel sites operate just fine. They get far more usage than WDW's site, and from the second we open the page we've never encountered a problem searching various dates and locations, and it all happens very quickly. The WDW site is garbage.

I have tried it all now - different browsers, cache clear, etc. My laptop, my phone, my desktop. Nothing is working. Very frustrating!

I have to agree 100%! With the money WDW has, this shouldn't be an ongoing issue. I can see it happening here and there but everyday for consecutive days. NOT COOL.
The main issue I can think of, it's an individual problem.
Be it an individual browser, individual computer, or a combination of the 2 of some sort.
Because everyone that uses the website isn't having a problem.
Many, many guests access, book and plan trips, FP and ADR without any problems.
Using all the browsers out there. Without having to clear cache or use incognito or anything.
So that means it does work just fine. Until it doesn't.
Now, I know it doesn't help when you are the one who it is not working for.
But you have to imagine how hard it is to troubleshoot a problem that is only a problem for a few individuals. Especially when on the surface, everything about those who it works for and those who it doesn't work for, appear identical.

I've watched many Facebook friends complain about the WDW site over the years. None of them are Disboard members. I've been on the phone with reservation CMs who complain about their interface (is it also web based?) not working properly during our call and they need to take a moment to restart. I guess if you're only going by the pool of people who frequent the boards it seems like it doesn't affect many people. To me, if a few random folks are always experiencing the glitches that are detailed above, then it would make sense that many, many more people who don't participate on message boards are dealing with the same things.

I never tried to say that it was only a few here at The Dis and nowhere else. Only that some people can use it without issue. I have friends in real life who have booked and gone on vacations and never experienced a single problem. Anytime a company has a site that works perfectly fine for one person and completely hosed for another it's h e double hockey sticks to troubleshoot. Surely that is not hard to see.

Trust me, I realize the problems. I have them too. Some days. And other days, I am able to book everything without a single sight of Stitch or Olaf for days on end. Makes no sense at all. I use the same browsers, same computers and same accounts. If it doesn't work today then there's no reason why it would work tomorrow (or vice versa) but that isn't the case at all.

Once again, Disney doesn't really care. The experience they sell isn't centered around the web site. They sell vacations.

I am also running into random troubles with their web site. To be honest, their IT system in a whole is just a mess. Even MBs are affected: sometimes touching the band to pay doesn't work and I have to retry, multiple times a day the door of my room won't work and I have to retry. (Before someone suggest my band is faulty, I have so many and they all experience the same glitches.)

But, at the end, it is just a minor inconvenience. Yes, I would prefer that they fix their IT. Wouldn't it be amazing than Disney's website work as well as Amazon's?

Except for on Prime day, LOL
