Went stroller shopping with DD 3-1/2. She hated all the ones we tried. The Maclaren Volo, triumph and quest. Also, the Peg Perego Aria, it was a "boys" stroller. We told her color doesn't matter. She wouldn't tell us why she didn't like them, but she didn't. We finally gave up.
She likes her current stroller. We may just have to keep it until it falls apart while she is in it and throw it in the nearest garbage can!

I don't know what to do. We need a new one. She is too young to walk all day, but she doesn't like any of the strollers we've tried.

I think the Volo is out. She wold need to be strapped in and she HATES that. The Triumph seems to not have a deep enough seat. So, it seems to be between the quest and the aria, but she says neither are comfortable.

Any suggestions?

I suggest an umbrella stroller. For an older toddler they are more comfortable then a traditional stroller, more leg room and no lap bar. They fold up to nothing which makes them convenient to bring on the plane and bus/monorail/ boat to and from the parks. They are less confining and easier to get them in and out for the rides. They make them with 101 Dalmatians or Dora the explorer prints which may interest your daughter

Do you know why she said they were not comfortable? Is it because of the padding, is it because of the smaller/narrower seat, etc.? What is her current stroller? Do you think she will sit anyway when she is too tired at Disney?

If you think she'll cave in when she is tired, then a Quest might be something to consider. A bit of a recline, but light and compact enough. Or the new Peg Perego Pliko Lite.

If the real issue is comfort, then maybe something in the middle like the Inglesina Zippy or Peg Perego P3. These are still umbrella style, not as light or as compact as the Quest, but they do have full recline, bigger/wider seat, more padding, etc.

Did you try the Combi? My DS2 seems to really like it. Also, the combi has a removable bar on the front so I don't have to keep the five point harness on him...sometimes I think he seems to confined with all the straps, and on the Combi I can just have the lap strap (if I want) with the bar. He fits in it very well. It worked great for Disney because it reclines, has a nice canopy, small storage underneath and very light with a carrying strap. DH doesn't mind pushing this stroller either. We got the red one, I know it comes in other colors too, so maybe your DD can help you pick a color she likes! :thumbsup2

Another vote for the comfortable and LIGHTWEIGHT Combi! We have a double savvy now but have had the single savvy in the past (actually 2 of them- had the circus pattern for ds number one- then had dd and wanted girlie so got the leopard- ds number three used the circus one- then had ds number 4 so we needed a double) They are so soft for a lightweight stoller- they have that great removable bar(just don't lose it lol) and now I found it in PINK!! on the web. search for Combi strollers and you will get a ton of links. We love them. Now cheaper and more "grown up" kind is the Chico umbrellas stroller- it is basic but pretty comfortable and full of some features for that price point.(we have that one too for when we just need a single since our first single circus has seen better days)

i bet you are regretting asking for her 2 cents. ;)

maybe something with a cup holder or a snack tray, that could be a special place for her? i think chico's have.

Hello! Its a dicatorship, not a democracy. Get a stroller you like. She doesnt get a vote and when she's tired or you need to move fast, she will get in it. Get one of the inexpansive Gracos or Baby Trends that has the reclining seat and cup holders and stuff. She will use it at WDW and if she never ever gets in it again, you won't have spent too much.

ps. Sears sells a stroller with the Disney princesses on it. or at least they used to.

:rotfl2: Amen

I think we have decided on the Quest. We talked to DD this morning and she said she likes the pink one. I said what if it was black and she said she still liked it and didn't want the snack tray.
Normally I would agree with the not a democracy, but she is the one that has to sit in it and I want her to be comfortable.

I just wanted to chime in about the Quest! It's great and my dd 2, loves hers! It will be her second year to go to WDW with it. It does have a deeper seat than the Triumph. You can get a brand new one that's an older year (they're kind of like cars, they have newer models/colors every year!) off of ebay for sometimes close to $100 of of the 2006 model! That's where I got mine and LOVE it! If you'd like the name of the person on ebay who I got mine from, feel free to pm me. :thumbsup2

Don't mean to wander off the subject, but we are looking for a sit and stand stroller for our December trip. I've looked at Ebay, but hate the bidding war, wondering if anyone has one that they'd like to sell. We've found a company that sells them new but I hate to spend $250.00 for a stroller that will probably only be used our ten days at WDW. Thanks, Janice

May be changing my mind. I was looking at the Peg Perego Aria and it has a nice basket and a removable baby tray. Does anyone have one of these?

We just got one! My son is almost 3 1/2 and he LOVES it. I took the front tray off because it was annoying to me to lift him up and over it as much as he was getting in and out, for rides, etc. He could climb in but didn't want that. I love the recline and basket. I never even attached the cup holder after reading it hardly fit anything and I am not much of a carry around a drink person, if I have a bottle or even a cup, I just set it down below. I love the basket, nice and large. Super lightweight. We don't use the straps, but I do like that it can be a 3 point harness as I would never strap my son in a 5 pt, too confining (although this one does come out and move). I got mine at TJMaxx, just after leaving babies r us because I didn't have the coupon with me they were running at the time. It is last years model, which was fine with me.

We tried the MacClaran but I couldn't get over how ugly I thought it was, it didn't help that the colors were HORRIBLE that I had to choose from. That is what I had originally gone for. I didn't like the basket either. We tried every stroller in Toys R Us I think!

I have a Peg Perego Pliko P3. My youngest DD HATED umbrella strollers so I understand your desire to get something your DD will not fight you putting her in. Do you think you may have any more children? The Pliko is nice because it has a running board on the back that an older child can ride on. My DD prefered sitting straight up rather than an umbrella and the Peregos also have a great harness that keeps them secure but releases from the seat back so they can move more freely. I see that the Aria has that harness too. The basket looks more accessable on the Aria. I like that the Pliko flods umbrella style and stands when folded. Amazon (babiesrus.com) has great multiple view photos of the strollers.

I've had good luck ordering on line from Albee Baby. I've purchased 2 strollers from them and had very good service (and price-no tax or shipping) from them.

Good Luck! I've got 3 small children so I know the struggle to find the perfect stroller-especially with a strong willed little one.

Thanks!

Nope, no more children for us.

I went through a similar frustration last summer when we were planning a trip to WDW. My dd was then 3 almost 4 and I knew she would need a stroller. I wanted one that held more than her weight since I didn't want to be just at the weight limit and have it be hard to manuever around the park. It also had to have a shade of some sort, a basket and recline. I chose the Lifestyle by Kidco. This stroller met all of my requirements and then some. It has a rain cover and it folds like an umbrella stroller. It didn't cost me an arm and a leg either. I think I paid less than $200 for it. She loved it. The seat was deep enough that she didn't have to be strapped in and it extended for her legs too. I would recommend this stroller to anyone. I now use it for my ds who is 7 months old and I know it will last us a long time with him.

This sounds like a really nice stroller. Do you know if it is an American compnay?
