I'm a BIG fruit eater...apples, grapes, bananas, berries, you name it, I love it. So I plan on using my snack credits mostly for water and fruit, same with my breakfast "dessert." Seeing as how I plan on eating mostly junk the rest of my trip, I need to get some real food somehow :earboy2:

How fresh is the fruit in WDW? Is it pre-cut or does it come whole? Is there a place that seems to have a better selection of fruit than another either in the parks or at my resort, POFQ?

You can get whole fruit in nearly every buffet. There's cut and fresh fruit in the Bakery on Main Street. I'll think of some more for you.......

Lots of apples (red or grannys), bananas and oranges. The cut fruit is mostly apples, grapes, cantalope, strawberries and honeydew. All is quite fresh, with the exception of the honeydew (no taste). Oh, yes. Watermelon.

There are fruit stands in each of the parks as well. MK's is back in ToonTown by Goofy's rollercoaster, AK's is back in Africa, MGM's is back by ToT and RNRC I believe. Can't remember where Epcot's is.

They have whole apples, banannas and the pineapple is wonderful!!

a lot of the cs places( thinking fountainveiw in epcot inparticular) have a fruit/fruit cup type dish also

If you go to Aloha Isle, you can get a pineapple spear. Dont know if this is on the food plan.

Thanks everyone. I know it seemed like a silly question, but I was curious :) Not long now! :cool1:

DW also is a lover of fresh fruit and has had no problems getting it at WDW. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

Some warnings, though: Pears from kiosks inside the theme parks -- not a good idea. For some reason, I've never gotten a ripe pear at one of the parks. (I suppose they wouldn't do so well if they were actually ripe. I suppose peaches would be the same way.)

The bananas as Pop weren't ripe either - YUCK !!

We are fruit eaters also.
We order a fruit basket from the WDW florist each time we visit.
We pack paper plates and a knife in the suitcase to use with the fruit.

This way- if we miss a fruit stand in the park - we have fruit back at the resort. Now the resorts have refigerators (moderate & deluxe) - you can keep the fruit nice and cool. We use the knife to cut up the oranges and create apple slices for the kids.
