Fruit Cake

I didn't vote because it depends. My mother makes a homemade fruit cake which will knock your socks off. It itsn't really cakey, it's more ooey-gooey. Put a dollop of Cool-Whip on it and MMMMMMM! Any other fruit cake I will gladly use as a paper weight

I love a good fruit cake, but those that you get at the drug store and target are really bad.

Fruitcake is YUCKY! I have an Aunt that sends my family one every year. We don't have the heart to tell her we hate it. Luckily, our neighbors love it so it doesn't end up in the garbage.

i buy all brands, some are better than others though.

i even buy the cheapo ones at target and the dollar store.
i know they aren't the best, but they will do if i am in the mood for one.

i will eat any fruitcake that is before me.


i don't understand why no one else is fond of them.
but then, i also love liver and onions.

There is good fruitcake, and there is ewwww fruitcake. The higher priced one has golden raisins, cherries and lots of nuts-and Rum!

The cheap stuff is this 4" square log at grocery stores that is full of black raisins and is nasty.

Yes, it MUST have lots of rum in it!!

I love my grandmother's recipe. It's made mostly with nuts and only a little bit of good quality (We have to order ours.) candied fruit. Yummm! There's nothing like it with a cup of hot tea on a cold winter day.

i have been known to freeze fruitcakes and save them for the summer.

very difficult to get fruitcake out of season.

Claxton fruit cake is great and there is one made in Texas that is excellent.
I love fruit cake

sorry, even though it's the Christmas season coming upon us, i am still selfish when it comes to fruitcake.........
