Frozen, Why Kids Can't "Let It Go"

The "article" makes no attempt to get to why. It's just a click-bait regurgitation of old stats.

The stores here are jammed with Frozen merchandise. I'm hoping that it means that it has reached saturation or is at least close to it.

We went to see Disney on Ice last night. The place practically exploded when they figured out the last segment was the frozen segment. Kids were singing along to most of the songs. Many Else costumes in the house. Olaf was the biggest hit. I would say it's not over yet.

It will be over when the Frozen stuff shows up on the discount racks and in the bargain bins at Walmart. May that day come quickly.

Same here...

There was alot of
Frozen stuff on the shelves leading up to Christmas...

Though they did of course rake "well deserved" cheap Chinese profits.

I'm guessing that the frozen buzz will recede significantly In the next 6 months...but will still give a longterm strong draw/ marketing element for the girl set for Disney.

The little mermaid never goes away... Neither does belle or Cinderella...
I expect Vegas show girl Elsa will not either

The Disney merchandising machine has it's eyes on another item now. I'm sure as 2015 progresses we'll truly see The Force 'awaken' in the gift shops and retail stores from coast to coast.

No doubt...

As A&E fall back to the pack... The shield of skywalker will allow the products division to quietly repackage the princesses for the next 5-10 years worth of product.

Not to be equally corny...

But "there's been an awakening...and soon we all will have felt it"

Even now...the usual suspects...Wally's, target, and toys r us... Have out standalone "star wars
Sections" in some of their retail stores...currently with some rebels products, lego, etc.
But that's just the on deck circle.

It might help that these stores have always had decent Star Wars areas. I love Star Wars but don't particularly want to be inundated with it either. I hope that it stays reasonable.

Disney is in somewhat of a precarious spot here...

On one hand... There is a desire for more star
Wars that will very quickly come to boiler...it's gonna be nuts.

Product is warranted.

But...on the other hand...one of the big complaints about the 99-2005 debacle (which continues today because the product had been Increasingly bad)... Is that the merch was a big turnoff and actually reduced the potential bottomline by driving some sales away.

Terrible characters/story/acting combined with walmart grade merchandise infusion will do that for you...

So the film is done...but it is heavy Into the editing/effects process right now...and the December release date makes sense as to not cannibalize avengers...

But maybe it's more than that?

Maybe it's lead time for product more than anything?
Consider that?

They should initially work with McFarlane to issue some special edition figures and release a special edition of the trilogy without the later changes.

The small action figures carried by all of the stores aren't bad and of course Lego is amazing but I would keep it down to that just before the movie opens. I dislike the idea of seeing Star Wars characters as stickers and on plastic glasses and bags and just everything everywhere! This is Frozen right now and a lot of it is junky and there is just way too much of it.

Umm...
If you think they aren't gonna saturate..

Maybe you should take the " retail year off"

And probably avoid online too ;)
