FROZEN the musical opens May 27

Eeeeek I have a little girl who is going to love love love going to see this this summer !!!!!!

The 27th will be our last day at the parks. Will we have to get a fastpass like we did for Aladdin?

I am signing up for information regarding FP and opportunities to get into the queue on May 27 (May 27-29). I am NOT a Frozen fan AT ALL, but I am optimistic that Disney will do a great job with this production. We LOVED the Aladdin show!

Yeiiiii !!!! I hadnt seen the dates announced so thanks for the heads up! So excited for this one.

I just read on MiceChat that the new Frozen music will have a run time of just under an hour! That's a pretty good length show. :)

That really surprises me in this age of cutbacks.

Maybe they have certain things they wanted more fully developed in preparation for taking it to Broadway?

I think the Hyperion's version of the Frozen musical has been in development since before the cutbacks were put into place, plus it seems like it's going to be the showpiece for this summer. I remember the Aladdin musical was also pretty long (about 45 minutes), so in that way, this fits with the previous show's length. It will be interesting to see what they cut and if they add/expand anything. The original movie was only 100 minutes, so that would mean the new musical isn't going to be that much shorter!

I don't know how much (if any) of Frozen from the Hyperion would be used for the Broadway version. The director, choreographer, costume designer, and set designer are all different between the two productions. My guess is these are largely two very independent shows; kind of how Aladdin on Broadway and Aladdin at the Hyperion were very different shows.

I'm actually (finally) getting excited for the Frozen musical. I was really sad when Aladdin left but apparently I've processed my grief enough to finally hit the stage of acceptance :goodvibes

Has anyone heard if there will be fast passes available for this new show, or will we just need to arrive early to stake out a seat?

I'd say both. There will be "Fast Passes" but they will most likely be the only way you will get to see the show. Because of the popularity, when it first opens, you will need to arrive early to get a good seat.

Still hoping for a soft opening this coming Monday (not counting on it though :( )
