Frozen Summer Fun?

I would say yes only cause that walled up park will need something to get people in the gates.

Don't think they'll take that approach...

I think they're more likely to treat studios as having a couple of "lost years" than trying to headfake the customers...

Just a hunch...I may be wrong

Speaking of Frozen opening in Epcot fairly soon...what happens to the MK meet and greet when that happens? Is it expected to be closing?

I would think it's unlikely they take it out or change it unless they have a similar replacement needing to go into that space.

Frozen popularity has died down - to the surprise of nobody - but it's still a good draw.

I'm sure there will be a spike of interest in Epcot...if a temporary one...and the new cartoon country will do well.

What did they do at DCA? Because it seems this is a very similar situation.

I believe the Epcot area will have a substantial meet and greet, 3 lines? In which case I imagine other princesses will be rotated in at the MK.

You know...the minute I posted that I thought the exact same thing...

I wasn't there...but I believe that they handled DCA by over promoting the changes they were making so there was no way that anyone in the park couldn't get swept up with "big changes are coming" concept.

That would be the right call here...not temporary parades and cupcake upsells.

We'll see...you can't BS pin wearing Disneyland customers the way you can wdw ones following the yellow flags

Yeah...but the PEOPLE aren't in Epcot...unless there are food booths or a marathon passing through.

So I don't see the anna and Elsa meet and greet going away in magic kingdom anytime soon.

But I have to laugh...I vividly remember people around here arguing that Epcot would see some ridiculous - like 2,000,000 person - bump when olaf's cruise opens.

Because it's was a "cultural phenomenon" like no other. People need to really cut back on the Koolaid and separate personal tastes from reasonable conclusions.

I guess my only thought while asking was that if they needed to force attendance shifts in the park a bit, moving Frozen M&Gs to ONLY Epcot would be a good way to shift a bunch of families with little ones away from an overcrowded MK and into Epcot more (I know with a slightly still obsessed Frozen toddler we'd have to consider rearranging our plans a bit with such a change...unless they moved Frozen M&G out and added Anna/Elsa to CRT or something which would be the perfect move for us personally). But as a complete newb here and with Disney in general I have no concept of the attendance levels or if any of that even makes sense.

And the words Star Wars are drawing people in right now.

I think it would be wise for them to expand the launch bay concept and do more of the the traditional Disney "preview centers" That they did in the past for studios...

Maybe a toy story setup similar to launchbay with a finding dory preview or tie in?

I think it would go along way towards convincing people that the park they are paying $105 for that day is being handled well/fixed and would be worth returning to...

Just my take

There was talk that Disney wanted to see a 2,000,000 person bump at Epcot because of frozen that's where that came from. I'd imagine Disney doesn't think that's going to happen anymore but I wouldn't be surprised.

I agree I was just saying that as of late Disney has been rolling out ads claiming there is all of them is new stuff at at DHS that has to do with Star Wars.

There'll get a temporary spike that will flatten out quickly...

Remember when the anna and Elsa meet and greet had a 4 hour line starting in Mexico at 9 am?

Well...if you look at the ride times now on the app the mk one has one of the smaller average waits...I saw it around 30 minutes on a recent busier day.

Waves always crash...with very few exceptions.

I'm hoping selfishly that the Star Wars fireworks continue through the summer and more Star Wars things (like more meet and greets) open up in HS as a prelude to Star Wars and Toy Story lands. I also hope they continue some sort of villains' party.

I think focus on these themes would draw certain groups to the park.

IMO: MK great for young kids, EPCOT adults, AK animal lovers and HS would be a focus for preteen/teen. Not that all the parks aren't great in ways for all just based on our family's preferences this is how I see things

That's not really an apples to apples comparison though when you consider the hours the M&G ran in Epcot and the more limited number of Annas and Elsas.

No Frozen isn't what it was two years ago but it's still pretty damn popular. I can absolutely see them making Frozen Epcot exclusive just to hold up attendance.

The comparison was that kids things are always huge at the start but diminish incredibly. I don't see a frozen ride being huge enough to draw that much traffic out of magic kingdom to end the tie in there. Just don't see it.

Frozen is currently Their most popular princess franchise...but it's in the pack as one of a dozen princess franchises. To think that was ever not gonna be the result was silly. It's not even that good of a movie if we all cut through it and are honest...

Most people who "get" Epcot are never gonna love this conversion...on principle it doesn't work out right...

But they're big mistake was taking so long to do it. It's like their tried to catch lightning with a unicycle.

I think they would have been better just to wait closer to the sequel and play it that way. Make it more of a "new Classic" approach.
