I've been following the Frozen Summer Fun Tips thread, but haven't seen a thread yet that specifically discusses the premium package. I am interested in hearing from people who have done it and what their experience was like. Did you enjoy it? Were your seats good? Was it well run? And most importantly, how were the desserts?? ;)

I'm not looking for any debates, just reports. I booked the package for 8/22 and personally, I am very excited! This is the first time we've done a separate event like this. My daughter is a HUGE Frozen fan and I know she will love it!

We did the SWW version which was a little less but Frozen gets the seating at the show that we did not get. We had never done anything like this - I never could wrap my head around Dessert Parties to see something that was otherwise free, but now I might be looking to try those as well.

The area it is in is large but it is basically a square so:
- During the parade much of it is useless. There was a section along the rope for handicapped seating and an area for children (they were to be seated on the ground so all could see) then the remainder of the rope was open to anyone however half of that did not face the parade because it ends at the stage. I highly suggest you get there early if you want front row, there will be a line to enter long before it opens.
- During the Fireworks/Dessert Party there are high cocktail tables with a few lower ones reserved for handicapped guests (wc/ecv height) and certainly not enough tables for all of the guests. You may find yourself sharing a table with strangers which is fine. This is not optimal viewing for fireworks since so close to the hat but just having all that space, not be pushed, able to move around was worth it. Again, arrive early - there was a line an hour before opening of the area. Our goal was to be as far back as we could for a better view and it worked out well because most folks were going for closer to stage or towards American Idol which also gave them more view of the fireworks.

Refreshments:
- Daytime was great. All you wanted. We had ice cream bars and sodas while we waited. Could have had more ice cream. We grabbed a couple waters each as we left. They have plenty there and offering it to you as you leave.
- Nighttime - the desserts were awesome. We had plenty of time to try them all and get a more of our favorites. The set up with the buffet was great, no lines or problems going back to get more. They never ran out until towards the end. Plenty of drinks, sodas, waters etc. The alcoholic drinks - we were so excited about - were bad. We tried each and couldn't drink more than a few sips of each, tasted like cheap alcohol. That was okay, we just got more desserts.

It was totally worth it for us to not be in a crush of people during the day (and expect Frozen to be just as bad) and we thoroughly enjoyed the dessert party plus you'll get the show. :thumbsup2 Best suggestion is arrive early to both lines to be able to get a good spot inside. I am trying to decide if I want to do this one now. You can not judge the night group by the day, we saw many walk up and pay for the dessert party on the spot who were not at the day parade. ENJOY!!

We were at DHS yesterday and it looked awesome. We actually have our Frozen Summer Fun passes for next week. We are here for 2 weeks! Can't wait!

This is about right. I did the SWW one and the biggest tip. Get the back table and stay away from the front for fireworks.

As for the Magic Kingdom dessert party, it's rubbish. I wouldn't waste your money. It's a decent view but the food is subpar. The desserts at SWW were good and from what I've seen for the FPP it's the same type of stuff and they added fruit (which is nice). Not to mention the alcoholic drinks are well done and themed perfect.

Is it worth it? Depends on the value you place on convenience. Many of the reviews JL's on here and Kenny the Pirate will say it's not but, I think they are in the bottle somewhat there. They know the little tricks of the trade better than most of us and have a chance to come back again. I have annual passes but I am not as familiar with the park as many of the locals. If you are taking your family for a 6 day trip once a year..... by all means this is great. You basically have a place holder for the cost which cuts down fighting for a spot. Lastly, along with convenience I think day matters. I'm going on a weekend so, yes I will pay. If it's a low traffic day in park.... may be worth just staking your own spots. My 2 cents.

There will be no seats for either the parade or the dessert party. The only seating you get will be at the show (which wasn't offered at SWW when I did that package).

I did the SW package pretty much just to get pics of Mark Hamill so I didn't have to be right up front for the whole parade...I was over on the left side of the stage which is where the celebrities got out of their cars to go to the stage so some good shots came from that. Most of the characters went that way too, although some went in the opposite direction.

Dessert party was moved indoors (Disney Jr.) due to weather and I did have lots of rum drinks and tasty desserts.

I saw Kenny the Pirate's review but he went to the first one and didn't realize the importance of getting in line early apparently...and I didn't really care about the fireworks view as I'd already seen them.

I did the Premium Package on Monday. Here is my experience along with some opinions of why I did what I did.

I was all ready in Central FL when the pacakge was announced on a trip where I was in charge. I had brought five nieces and nephews with me to visit my daughter (a CM) and her boyfriend was a part of our group. It was a Cousin's Trip with the kids ranging from 13-21 and the two CMs are 28)...I am older haha.

Ok although I am a very experienced Disney traveler the kids I brought along (at least a couple of them) have rarely been. We drove and I originally was planning on driving home on Monday. Saturday and Sunday were out for Frozen fun due to another cousin joining us just for the weekend and preplanned ADRs. So Monday it was! I decided if I was adding the day to their tickets and adding the day to the trip I wanted to make sure we did all of the Frozen activities easily so I booked the package knowing it would be necessary to check the boards on Sat night/Sunday to see how to do things properly.

Our plan for Monday was to arrive at the check in spot at 9:45 but due to traffic coming into the park we did not get there until about 9:55. There were very few people in line and the CM told me they had expected a line an hour previously but the people weren't lining up early that day. He also told me the package was sold out for that day but there was still availability later in the week. We were given our lanyards and a CM behind was carrying a box of sing a long tickets. We were not given 12:30 as an option (and I did not ask). We took the 1:30 tickets.

We entered right at ten and were told if we went into the taped off area we needed to sit. We found a place along the rope and sat with four in front and four in back. At no time was it said that this area was just for children ; only that you had to be sitting in this area. The area was filled with both children and adults. We sat slightly to the left facing the stage. As mentioned there was plenty of soda, water, ice cream to be had for all.

At one point a CM came up from the other side of the rope and said once the processional stopped and Anna and Elsa were on the stage we would have to stand as they stage would be rushed with guests...this did not turn out to be true as they kept the area in front roped off even with our rope so we were able to sit throughout the entire stage show. Some people to the right of us stood but we did not need to and by not standing more people behind us were likely able to see better.

We thought we had excellent seats which would have only been slightly better if we would have been able to move a bit to the right. Overall though I was very pleased.

We then did Oaken Trading Post. We were in the shop part for just a bit and a few members of our group bought items. We had no wait to go in.

We then did the "fun" part and had no wait. We are a skating family and get enough snow and ice at home so skipped those activities but we did do all of the photopass opps since we have the Memory Maker.

After that we just found a spot in the Commissary to chill until our Sing a Long. Our return time said 12:50-1:20 for the 1:30 show so we went over at 12:50 where we stood until well after 1 as the 12:30 show was going on and they had to reset. Really no need to be there that early and to have that as a return time. The entrance area for the package holders is a back entrance and it was not shaded.

LOVED the stage show. There are a number of rows front and center for package holders roped off and we were guided to that area. The show was far better than I ever imagined.

We then went back to our home and packed the car up for the next day and ate.

We went back to the park at 7 and waited until a line formed and got in that. While in that line we talked to people next to us who included a CM that works with some entertainment. He said one of the historians left his previous position a month ago for a new endeavor which means this had to be in the works at that point. This gentleman also gave us what he thought were the areas to be in for the fireworks/stage show. Both components were important to us so when we went in we went to the far left near the VIP roped off section (where no one ever showed up so that was a waste of really good fireworks viewing space). We were at a smaller table but it was not designated as handicapped as other tables were. The Summer Fun dance party was going on and it really kept us occupied while we ate our desserts This spot was ideal as we could see everything on the stage and then move just a bit left and really saw most of the fireworks ...those to the right of the stage were not as visible but appeared to be more of the straight up ones so we got the effect.

The desserts were very nicely themed to Frozen and were very good. We had four over 21 in our group and two of those had the alcohol. One had the Iced Summer and liked it and the other had an Iced Coffee and liked it.

Research CMs were wandering through and taking guest opinions during the time.

The standing got a bit old and about fifteen minutes before the fireworks we all ended up sitting down (as were many others). We did stand up when the show began.

We left immediately after the fireworks due to the early morning coming up and drive home and there were still desserts out and available.

Overall I was extremely pleased with purchasing the package...as I said if we were staying I wanted to make sure I didn't have to scope out seating/viewing areas etc. I think considering I didn't really know much about the package and viewing for these events we chose great spots. I would definitely do it again.

Any questions feel free to ask!

Thanks for the great info!!! Do they not give out 12:30 passes for Premium Package participants? what time would you suggest getting in line for checkin where you would not be waiting too long? what time would you suggest getting in line for your sing-along show? where would you think is the best area in the premium package area to view the stage show and fireworks?

I have no idea why the 12:30 passes were not available.

I think 9:45 would be a good time to check in but I really think this is just going to vary day to day.

Ok for the sing-a-long...this is one thing we did not do "right" Our passes said to return between 12:50-1:20 for the 1:30 show. I did not think about the fact the 12:30 show would still be going on so we we went and got in the Premium FP line for the Sing a Long at 12:50. For this you go in a back entrance and there is absolutely no shade in the lined waiting area. They told us we would be let in after the 12:30 show was completely empty and they reset the stage so it was after 1...maybe even about 1:10 before they let us in. The Premium people have reserved seating up front and that area never filled with Premium people as just a few minutes before show time they started letting standby people fill in that area...SO to summarize I think we would have been fine getting there 1:15ish or so. It is air conditioned though so being first in is nice.

For the Fireworks/Stage show in the evening we took area facing the stage but to the far left. From there we could see the Stage easily and the sky area was clear for the fireworks. The VIP Fireworks viewing area was right by where we chose so it must be at least an ok spot.
