my daughter found some pork chops in her freezer 'freeze or eat by 12/31/08'.

she froze them as soon as she brought them - it would be safe to defrost and cook now, wouldn't it?

thanks.

I am guessing six months is allowed?

Although I know that there will be a number of others who would choose not to, I would cook and eat them without hesitation.

Ditto. I've had meat in my freezer much longer than that, thawed it (on the counter :scared1:), cooked it, and I'm still here!

I think they just get freezer burn and taste bad. But it takes a long time before they are inedible. Just guessing still. Hehehehee
