Amazing one movie alone paid for FP+, you would think they could give the M&G one as a thanks. pixiedust:

Frozen's only made a billion so far, it doesn't cover it. We need The Avengers' money.

Lol at Superdave :)

OP, I think its inevitable at some point. Or at least I hope that Disney sees that it is.

Grossing a billion doesn't come close to "making money" in Hollywood. The film could gross TWO billion and would still "lose money" based on residuals, percentages, etc.

I can't believe they haven't figured out a way to charge for it yet.

But yes, a FP+ would be nice.

Agreed. Leave the "no extra charge" M&G at Norway, then the $5 FP+ M&G at DHS, even though some folks would pay $500.

Haha!!!!! :rotfl2: I got it.......yeah- Disney can at least do that for all of the fans.

Captain America 2-Maleficent-Guardian of the Galaxy-Avengers 2-Finding Dory- and Star Wars will set Disney up for at least a decade. No worries for Disney.

The current location of the Frozen meet and greet will not support FP+, so as long as they are in Norway, it won't happen for any reason.

The Marvel movies are a proven commodity. Outside of Marvel I doubt the Disney studios are feeling super confident in the near term.

Disney live action has been living off of pirates for too long; bombs like John Carter and The Lone Ranger drag the profits from the hits down quite a bit. I suspect some executives are nervously awaiting the premiere of Maleficent.

Most Disney and Pixar animation has been pushed out past the next fiscal year. The Good Dinosaur is still scheduled ahead of Finding Dory but won't come out this year; Disney is only releasing Big Hero 6 which is still a big unknown.

Lucasfilm better make some money for Disney with a $4 billion investment in the books.

I agree-capitalize on the hot (Frozen) iron now IMO.

Maleficent could be big as well. Will be a bit tougher to find AJ lookalikes for a M&G though. ;)

THIS.

Gross revenue is NOT equal to net profit.

I'm stumped by Maleficent. Those of you who are predicting big success for it may be right (I hope you are) but I'm struggling to find the target audience that's going to make it so big. It better have more broad appeal than I see for it right now. It looks darker than Alice in Wonderland and Oz, the Great and Powerful, which is what it looks like it's going for, and that makes me worry that kids may not embrace it.

That may be true but the statement grossing a billion doesn't come close to "making money" in Hollywood is not. I doubt there's ever been a movie that wouldn't have made a ton of money if it grossed a billion.

You're right. And I think Frozen really does need to move from Norway in any event; not because it doesn't fit in with the theme, but because the pavilion is too small

Oh, I meant to ask earlier what you mean by this. They can set up to do FP+ at the Hub for MSEP every night, can't they do it here?

Agreed. There's only been a handful of movies that have hit the billion mark. If that was what was necessary to make a profit the movie industry would have crashed a long time ago.

To put it in perspective. Frozen's budget was $150 million. That still leaves $850 million left. Some of that goes to percentages and other things but as long as it's not more than a total of 80% of every dollar the movie is still making a good amount. Not to mention merchandise sales and the fact that the DVD/Blu-ray hasn't even been released.

"could" be big (CYA) :rotfl:

Yep, otherwise basically every movie ever made lost money.
