Frozen on Broadway

I still haven't seen the movie (i know i am a bad disney fan but just haven't had the time).

I loved BATB on Broadway. TLM is my fav animated film and I was dissapointed with the show. Mary Poppins on broadway was awesome. I have tickets to Aladdin in April so we'll see how that turns out.

What do you all think?

I'm looking forward to it. I've only seen Little Mermaid actually on Broadway (I did see Lion King and Mary Poppins on tour), and hope to go see Aladdin in the spring

I'm excited about the possibility. I haven't seen anything Disney on Broadway before (had tickets to Mary Poppins once but got sick), although I'm hoping to see Aladdin this year, but Frozen could definitely make a great stage musical.

I'd definitely see this one though. I would just hope that they at least give Idina Menzel first crack at the role of Elsa. Even if she were to turn it down for whatever reason, they at least need to ask her first.

That would be great! I was just saying the other day that I need to see a Disney Broadway show!

Although I think Idina is beyond amazing and has a perfect voice... it would be hard casting for her to pull off a teenage blonde on stage... she is 42 and I think would look silly blonde... she is such a gorgeous obvious brunette.

I am really excited to see this on stage... the building of the ice castle could be so awesome live...

a typical broadway show takes probably close to 2 years to bring to the stage and given that Aladdin is just opening now I can't imagine they would open another show for at least 2 years out - I'd target spring 2016, but just a guess

Very much not surprised they are doing this - the music was written by Broadway composers and most of the lead voices were from Broadway vets - I would have been more surprised if they didn't turn it into a Broadway show

Also, a number of the "demo" songs that are on the 2nd disc of the deluxe soundtrack could definitely be added as the running time of a Broadway show is longer than that of an animated movie - I know they are doing this with Aladdin.


Thinking "We Know Better", "The Pageant" and "More than Just the Spare" could easily be added in
