So I read that post about the whole Frozen invasion and it had said the sisters will be going to Disney's California Adventure for meet and greets and not do it at Disneyland anymore?

BUT there at Disneyland doing that Royal Theater show so I heard those have the characters do the meet and greets too?

This is too confusing what is the deal with meeting the sisters?

Hi There,

I have copied and pasted some info from a post on Trip Advisor I saw about some of the new details for Frozen. Yes I think in the change over period it may get a little confusing - just when we had the A&E meet and greet worked out! As for the meet & greets at the Royal Theatre - whilst it is something that often happens it is not always after every show and can depend on their commitments in other areas of the park so it is not guaranteed. If done there it is also only for people who have actually been to see that show, I would also wonder how much time you get to spend with them as opposed to the actual Frozen meet & greet area. Anyway hope some of the information below helps out.:goodvibes

From the Disney Parks Blog -- http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/12/new-frozen-fun-opens-at-disneyland-resort-january-7/

>>>>"This winter, Disneyland Resort celebrates the opening of spectacular new “Frozen Fun” at Disney California Adventure park, featuring magical adventures with characters from Disney’s blockbuster hit, “Frozen.” For a limited time beginning January 7, 2015, we’ll be bringing you a flurry of all-new, immersive experiences you won’t want to miss!

Some of the highlights coming to Disney California Adventure park include:

•“For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” – The Muppet*Vision 3D theater in Hollywood Land has been transformed for this event into the beautiful Crown Jewel Theatre from Arendelle. You’re invited to step inside and join the Arendelle Historians – along with special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff – for a fun and comedic retelling of the unique history of their kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen.”

•“Olaf’s Snow Fest” – Stage 17 in Hollywood Land plays host to an immersive winter wonderland straight out of the Kingdom of Arendelle, complete with a giant snow play area and musical performances by The Frolicking Fjords and The Tubadors. You can glide down a snow slide, build a snowman of your own and visit everyone’s favorite snowy pal, Olaf, and give him a warm hug. “Olaf’s Snow Fest” has so much to offer, from beautiful photo opportunities to scrumptious treats and special “Frozen” souvenirs. It’ll be a great spot for making memories that’ll warm your heart.

•Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post – Head back outside, and nearby you’ll find Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, where you can pick up the latest “Frozen”-inspired apparel, plush, toys, mugs and more.

•“Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome” – Anna and Elsa, the beloved sisters from “Frozen,” move from Fantasyland to an elegant new location inside the Disney Animation attraction at Disney California Adventure park, where you can meet them as part of a special royal greeting. The colorful and varied display in the Animation Courtyard will also now include scenes and music from Disney’s Academy Award-winning blockbuster hit, “Frozen,” and at Animation Academy, a Disney artist asks, “Do You Want to Draw a Snowman?” It’s a unique opportunity to learn how to draw your very own sketch of Olaf or Marshmallow.

•“Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party” – Each evening, you’re invited to “chill out” in Hollywood Land with music, dancing, interactive fun and more in this new, family-friendly experience. You’ll arrive at the party through an icy archway to find wintry décor, dazzling lighting effects, cool photo spots, yummy treats and frosty beverages for all ages. Throughout the night, a giant thermometer registers the drop in temperature, as things get so cool they ultimately reach the freezing point when everyone lets it go in a spectacular “Frozen Fun” crescendo!

A sneak peek of many of these exciting experiences begins Saturday, Dec. 20. Starting January 7, 2015, the “Frozen Fun” officially launches at Disney California Adventure park, and a new “Frozen” show makes its debut in Fantasy Faire at Disneyland park.

The Royal Theatre’s resident storytellers, Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones, present the tale of “Frozen” in a fun-filled, fast-paced retelling of the story, featuring their own wacky performances in key roles, along with Anna, Elsa and the Faire Maidens. And when “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” resumes daily performances January 7, Anna and Elsa will once again make pre-parade appearances on their own special float.

When Storybook Land Canal Boats returns later this month, there will be a new addition to this charming and beloved Fantasyland attraction, with excursions through the world of “Frozen” offering views of the fjord-side village of Arendelle, including the stately castle where Anna and Elsa grew up, Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, and Elsa’s mountaintop ice palace. The miniature locales of “Frozen” will find a new home among the familiar scenes of some of Disney’s most enduring and timeless fairy tales, including “Pinocchio,” “Cinderella,” “Aladdin,” and “The Little Mermaid.”

And don’t forget about Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink (continuing through February 22, 2015) and the new Anna & Elsa’s Boutique, both open now at Downtown Disney District. For fans of “Frozen,” there’s never been a better time to visit Disneyland Resort! Which of these new experiences are you most excited about? The only place for you to meet them is going to be the Animation building in DCA after all this Frozen business starts. It was implied by comments on the blog post that they will not meet after their show at Fantasy Faire, and there will no longer be a meet and greet in Fantasyland according to the above info from the blog post.

4Mickeys --

There is no need to copy and paste anything from Trip Advisor (and you need to include the link to the page where you got that info, or else we are essentially stealing their text).:goodvibes All of the info you need -- that is known as of this moment -- is on this board.

We have links to the Disney Parks Blog (and there are questions and answers in the Comments under that Blog) in this post and a link to the Disneyland News press release in this post of the actual Frozen Fun thread -- HERE. Check the last page or two of that thread.

I also have sections about Frozen Fun in 2 posts (the DCA post, under Hollywood Land and the DL post, under Fantasyland) on page 1 of the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread.

And, The DIS posted a blurb about Frozen Fun yesterday too -- HERE.

Where does it say in the text that they will not meet after their Royal theater performance in Disneyland? I don't see anything mentioned. I'm sure it will happen, if it happened with Bell and Rapunzel it will happen with them too no?

If you look at question #19 (from Gregory) in the Comments under the Parks Blog -- "Is December 19 the last day Anna & Elsa will appear in the Fantasyland cottage?" -- you will see that Shawn responded to say, "Gregory – Yes. They will move to Disney California Adventure on December 20."

And in the Disneyland News press release it says, "(Note: The Anna and Elsa meeting location in Disneyland Park will close at the end of the day on Dec. 19.)"

It sounds like Anna and Elsa are gone from Disneyland and Fantasyland -- at least after December 19th and through May 15th.

From the blog post in the comments:

Q: Will Anna & Elsa greet guest after shows in the Royal Theatre?

A: Gregory – You’ll be able to meet Anna and Elsa inside Disney Animation at Disney California Adventure.

Q: Is December 19 the last day Anna & Elsa will appear in the Fantasyland cottage?

A: Gregory – Yes. They will move to Disney California Adventure on December 20.

(Taken out of order)

Q: Question, when this all concludes at some point. Do Anna and Elsa go back to their original meet & greet spot in Disneyland or is this going to become permanent?

A: Taylor – Anna and Elsa are expected to continue greeting Guests inside Disney Animation at Disney California Adventure following the conclusion of the “Frozen Fun” event.

Shawn is the one responding under the Parks Blog!:rotfl2: Gregory asked questions #18 and #19.

ETA: At first glance it looked like you were posting that Gregory answered the questions, but now I see what you were doing!:rotfl2:

Also, in the press release (linked in a couple of places on this page, above), it says: "As they did in the previous location in Fantasyland, guests will utilize the Return Time Ticket to meet the characters, avoiding long wait times by securing a reservation time to return to the Royal Welcome."

So it looks like it will be the same sort of meet and greet set up at the Animation Building, but the Animation Building will no longer be a quiet escape from crowds.

The info contained in the post in TA had basically been lifted from a blog anyway. Had just seen it there and then logged in here and saw the OP's questions, so saw no real harm in sharing the information as it is publicly available anyway. ;)

With all the fuss around A&E, I find it highly doubtful that they would do an informal meet and greet after the Royal Theater show. There'd be a lot of drama from people who didn't know and left - or were just walking by. (Currently, I don't think you can go back in when the characters come out if you haven't stayed in the theater.) They'd get huge lines and a lot of ticked off people who couldn't see them.

So, to answer the OP's question, I think the only place you'll be able to meet A&E will be at their scheduled meet and greet with a return ticket.

The text that you copied and pasted came from someone's post on Trip Advisor. There was no link to that post. However, that person who posted the copied text on Trip Advisor actually provided a link to the original Parks Blog in question (the link is at the bottom of his/her post -- I saw it), which you did not do.

Regardless of whether or not something is publicly available, there needs to be a link to it. We're actually not even supposed to copy the full text of any article here, which is why you will often see just a sentence or a paragraph or two quoted (in quote brackets), with a link to the full, complete article. That's why I linked both the Parks Blog and the Disneyland News Press Release in my first post in this thread, instead of copying and pasting the entire articles. And when I did quote something in a subsequent post, it was a couple of sentences from two larger pieces for which I provided links.

Someone from another Disneyland discussion board once contacted us behind the scenes because someone from our board copied and pasted the entire text of an article they did, and it had to be removed.

I edited your post to put the text in a quote block, and to include the link to the Disney Parks Blog from which the info/article originated.
