Frozen meet & greet and some disturbing CM observations

I have to say on this last trip I noticed a real decline in the number of CMs that really seemed to be trying to make WDW feel special. Not that they were rude (well, just one guy was) but for the most part they seemed to be just doing their job in ill-fitting uniforms, no more into the "role" than the local fast food restaurant employees. We did find some exceptional CMs, but they were definitely rare. I missed the abundance of great CMs from past trips.

You're such a good dad for waiting that long. Sorry you ran into some bad Cast Members. They truly don't *get it*. My dad has fond memories of searching all of New Jersey for a Rainbow Brite doll when I was a little girl. It's what parents do.

Glad they enjoyed it! I can't wait to take my girls!

And just stay down there, the whole area is shut down with this mess! Lol!

I have to say on this last trip I noticed a real decline in the number of CMs that really seemed to be trying to make WDW feel special . . .

1) In lots of cases, this is unfrotunately true.
2) We see it all the time, and take the complaints of guests when they return to the resort.
3) There are several reasons, whether guests feel they are valid or not.
4) However, to CM's, perception becomes reality.
. . . inexperienced and untrained managers do not know how to supervise *
. . . knowledge that Ogre makes millions and many CM's need foodstamps and federal rent subsidies
. . . Disney spends $2billion for MP+ to make more profit, but invests in few rides or ride capacity
. . . WDW treats off-site guests and CM's in the park as second-class citizens, or even worse **

* the training of managers has been reduced to orientation of policies and
union rules. There are very few advanced classes for the young managers.
One senior executive retired because the new manager incompetency had
reached a Critical Mass, and didn't believe it could/would be turned around.

** Off-site guestss and CM's visiting the parks cannot get adavance FP's like
on-site guests. By the time the off-site guests get to the parks, many of the
popular rides have FP's gone or return times are several hours later. As for the
CM's, when we go to the parks for fun, there are lots of rides we can't get an
FP due to the same reasons. It's hard to defend to off-site guests, and one
should not treat employees this way.

I think they have all been pulled off to deal with FP+ issues.

And I'm only half kidding.
