Frozen drop vs pirates drop?

How large will the new frozen ride drop be in comparison to pirates? I have kids who don't like flumes. Will it be intense? They can handle pirates fine.

It should be the same as the Maelstroms. I believe Maelstroms was bigger but not in the dark. Also it use to be backwards. No word on if that is the same or not.

I never really considered the backwards part to be a drop.

The forward drop (the part where the troll sent us "down to the North Sea") was the only part of the ride I ever really considered a drop. It was shorter than Pirates and, as others have said, was also in the dark so not bad at all. The backwards part, as wilkeliza posted about, was definitely longer but also not nearly as steep (as, again, I never really considered it to be a drop). Clearly others did, though. It was nothing compared to Pirates.

I totally goofed and blended the 2 drops. You are right that the backwards one really wasn't a drop it was more the boat quickly going backwards. The last drop I always thought was taller than Pirates maybe it was just because I hated the last scene so I'm remembering it as worse than it was. I also usually was focused on the trolls "Back back over the falls!" "Disappear disappear"

I do it all the time, when ever someone says disappear I always go disappear disappear like the troll, and then just make myself sad. I know that change is inevitable but when working at EPCOT it was my goal to get to join the puffin petting club and it never happened. Now it never will
