I am not sure about the majority but my almost 3 year old daughter is absolutely obsessed with Frozen. There is something about the combination of characters/story/songs that she really loves.

We are taking her on her first trip to WDW in November 2015 and I am a little surprised about the lack of Frozen attractions at WDW currently. I hope they will be adding some things before we arrive.

I would think that Disney would want to capitalize on the popularity of the movie before it starts to fade.

Does anyone know of any upcoming Frozen attractions to WDW?

There are none officially announced, and these things take time. (The movie opened little more than six months ago, and Disney has no idea what kind of hit they have until after that.) I'd rather stamp out rumors than spread them, but the only chance you'd have outside the A&E M&G or their appearance in the Festival of Fantasy parade is the RUMOR that Maelstrom at Epcot in Norway MAY get an update/overlay. Whether or not that would happen in time for your trip (if at all) is another guestion.

Popular theory around here is that Disney is going to be cautious and wait a few years to determine if the (currently) fifth highest grossing movie of all time is "just a fad" before investing precious park resources into it.

Oh I am sure there are ideas being bounced around for frozen attractions, but look how long the mine train to be completed then tested and finally opened. Personally I'd like to see time taken to make a frozen attraction just right : ) But I do think frozen will stand the test of time and be an incredible attraction in time (( exciting ))
( there is a rumor out there on the rumor thread that the Norway ride maelstrom could be transformed Into a frozen ride ... Could be a wild rumor and probably is )

In my opinion... they would be *stupid* not to do something with frozen... I don't think its going away, not for a long time. This was a big deal movie, and finally a story with female character protagonists that save themselves and don't have to get married to be happy....

I don't think its going away anytime soon. Plus.... Idina Menzel!!!! She alone pulled the Broadway crowd into the mix.....

Ummmm wonder what Merida and Mulan think about that? :confused3

Mulan, I (semi) agree with, but it wasn't a huge blockbuster hit.

Neither was Brave really, I think Disney went wrong when they replaced the original female writer (who was writing about her relationship with her daughter). Brave was too dark of a movie, and it seems a lot of kids have an aversion to that.

They found the right mix of upbeat, light-hearted, witty with Frozen (along the same lines with Tangled).

I think the idea of two female protagonists that save themselves and each other is refreshing in an overly male dominated industry.

It helps girls to relate to these characters in ways that many other films cannot. There are issues with it, of course, its not perfect... but its a huge step in the right direction!

I think Frozen is here to stay.

Regardless of how well received either was or how popular they remain Frozen was not the first for female dominance.

Maybe I missed something in the movie but didn't the younger sister agree to marry the first guy she met outside of the castle after only knowing him for one day? Wasn't that a primary plot driver?

She did, but learned her lesson in the end and chose saving her sister over the new guy and her own life.

Let's not let our enthusiasm for the movie get away from us, and let's not encourage Disney to get ahead of themselves. I'm all for a knock it out of the parks Frozen attraction. But do you want it fast or do you want it done right? You can't have both. Project ideas and development. Funding. Construction. Tech development, testing, tweaking and retesting. CM training. And you want all of this completed how soon?? Sure they could knock out a boring rehash of an omnimover dark ride like The Little Mermaid. But who wants that?? Awesome takes more time. I prefer awesome.

Geez. Calm down. I was just asking if anyone knew of anything planned. I wasn't advocating putting together a cardboard train or anything. Is this the normal type of response to simple questions on this forum?

Seemed like a very appropriate answer to me. Nobody knows what's going to happen in 18 months...

You also mentioned surprise at them not having multiple Frozen attractions yet, a mere 6 months from movie open. That's an extremely unrealistic timeline for almost any single attraction, let alone several. They've done fairly well to have a M&G and the characters now briefly incorporated into a parade in that time.

Perfectly calm, but thanks anyway. You were the one surprised that they didn't have a full attraction already in place. And you were the one who apparently hadn't grasped that Disney takes their time with getting mega million dollar attractions just right (usually) before committing themselves to a large capital outlay. As I said in my earlier post- it takes time to do this. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear.

Here was my original question that turned into a lecture on the timing of major attractions in theme parks. I am sorry I asked. No response or a simple No would have been better.

While I do agree that it is far too soon for Disney to have come out with any Frozen attractions, they shouldn't be commended for being able to put together a meet & greet or add a couple of extra characters to a parade. Movies like this are in the works for years. Even if they didn't anticipate how popular Frozen would be, I would think they should be able to move quicker than they have. I have been to several Disney stores over the last few months & they have zero Frozen merchandise. My small church can get hundreds of t-shirts made within a couple of weeks notice. But, DISNEY is unable to meet the demand for Frozen merchandise? Hmmm. Not sure how this works...maybe there is a strategy behind it.

I don't feel this is Disney's fault atleast not entirely. For some reason people nowadays do not feel the need to work but rather just buy and price gouge parents that overly spoil their children. People are going to the stores at opening and buying every single Frozen item on the floor just to ebay or fb sell it that day. Then these parents that think that their child needs every single thing they want at any price imaginable pay these ungodly prices. And the cycle just continues over and over. A simple search on Ebay shows 98 THOUSAND Frozen items. That is beyond ridiculous. Parents learn to say no and get rich quick people just stop!!!

:furious:
Sorry rant over!
