A little more on the Frontierland expansion rumor.

Well, this rumor isn't dead.

A fairly reliable poster on WDW Magic says there has been a push on this lately. Now, this doesn't mean funds have been allocated or anything, just that it is being looked at more closely. Still Blue Sky.

Had a lengthy coversation with EPCOT Explorer, ColonelMcSwagger, Exprcoofto,
FoxxFur and Progress City USA today. Apparently CBJ may be in jeoparody (seconded by the Magic poster), but the bears themselves may remain. These Blue Sky plans seem to have a couple variations, including plans to permanantly dock the Liberty Belle riverboat. Should the plans ever come to frutition and not end up in a coffee table book, it would be largely original.

There are also plans and art out there for a makeover for CBJ. A new show ala Tiki Room to Under New Management. They don't sound too good.

Looks like Disney is looking to make chnages to Frontierland in some way.

Remember, this is all Blue Sky. Could open 10 years from now, could be shelved and dug up 20 years from now, or could never happen at all.

Click this link to see what it would look like Warning this is fan art!!! Go by the info posted above that is the rumor. This art was posted to show where the raft ride would go it is far from offical

I'm not sure there's enough space at CBJ to do anything worth getting excited over. Another show of some kind, of course, but that just doesn't do it for me.

And permanently dock the Liberty Belle? Seriously? It stays or it goes -- but don't turn it into a wet doorstop.

Less focus on MK, more on the other two parks that need, much, much more attention.

I'll belive it when I see it!

Me too as I said there are other things that need expanding first!

And another raft ride I'd rather see a ride system like MIB. A shooter with huge elaborate Western sets!

That would be a long walk to get back to the main attraction.
A river rapid ride would be cool on those hot days though. I like the Native American village, kinda getting back to Disney's roots...
I'm guessing the CBJ would turn into more of a playground/area by the description.
The return of the Adventures Club seals it for me though. Build it!

I like the possibility of the Adventurer's Club coming back in some fashion. It looks like the Magic carpets may go away.

It sounds kind of like a neat idea to me. I wouldn't mind CBJ being changed cause honestly those stupid bears kind of scare me. A river rapids ride would be cool, but I'm not sure about the dark ride or the Indian village. Those two just don't sound that exciting. What I really think they should do is redo Tom Sawyer island. It's okay for kids who have parents that are willing to bake in the sun, with nothing to do, but most parents aren't like that. I think turning it into a pirate island would be much better. Of course that's the obsessive Pirates fan in me.

Pirates have nothing to do with the old west, though.

As nice as this rumor sounds, I agree the other 3 parks need some attention. Animal Kingdom and DHS are dying for new attractions. These two are almost half-day parks to me. Epcot could use another country or two in World Showcase.

It's great to see potential plans for MK, but it's in the best shape, attraction-wise. I understand it does have capacity issues, though.

Any idea what the rumoured Mesa Verde dark right would be like? ( I had to google what Mesa Verde was) lol

I Don't care if this is real or not, it is a rumor thread after all.

However I do love most of the stuff I see. I think there are plenty of great ideas here that can be used both to bridge the gap to a 5th gate, and be used as plus's after a possible 5th gate.

I think its all very viable considering what appears to be great work going on in th FLE.

The Eisner parks need to be spruced up before a 5th gate is even considered. JMO

On topic, is the raft ride somewhat similar to Marc Davis' Western River Expedition? It would be great to finally see his project built.

As others have noted, the other parks need more attention first, all the more so if there's no E-ticket involved.

Some notes on this particular image, though:

 • Distance - if this is drawn to scale, then the walk from the entrance of BTMRR to the center of the new area is about as long as the walk from IASW to the new Dumbo. I'd have to assume there'd be some form of transport ride included in this design -- meshing with the permanent docking of the Liberty Belle, it's likely that the current boat launch to Tom Sawyer Island would have a third stop added near the Indian Village.
 • Rainbow Caverns Tunnel - If they can incorporate this into BTMRR (that is, you're walking through the ride, with ride vehicles moving nearby), that would be pretty cool.
 • Anyone notice the Main St. expansion (Chinatown) noted on this map?
 • While it may require a fair amount of facade changes due to the new angles and th emovement of some backstage areas, I'm sure, it does open up a potential for linking Fantasyland to Fronteirland on the north side in the future -- either expanding one or both areas until they can be transitioned, or adding a new "land" (with it's own RR stop) inbetween.

You guys realize this is some fan's fantasy map and not an actual Imagineering proposal, right?

I think the raft ride would use Marc Davis's story but instead of the POTC ride system it would use one similar to Kali river Rapids.

Yes the main reason I posted the map is to show where the expansion would be. Go by the text I posted in the first post that is what would happen.
