Frontier prices drop or continue to rise?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to flying Frontier, but recently gave them a shot because the prices were just too good. I had a good experience, and even with all the nickel and diming my flight was half the cost of any other airline. Anyway, because things went so well I decided to use them again for an upcoming budget trip to Disney. When I was pricing everything out a couple weeks ago the fare's were super low, but I wasn't quite ready to book and this morning I see the prices have more than doubled...uh oh!!! My question is will they come back down or did I miss my chance at super low prices? I checked the seats and the plane is still empty at this point (trip not till August). I'm just not familiar with Frontiers price patterns so these new prices are making me nervous (especially because all other airlines are really high for late August as well). Any insight (including mind readers LOL) would be appreciated!

I fly Frontier several times a year so I've watched their pricing a lot the past 5 years or so. Frontier prices vary greatly day to day and even sometimes morning to evening. They have frequent sales most of the best pricing on which are for flights within the next month or two. Some of the best prices I've booked at ($50 Round Trip NJ/PA to FL) were booked only 2 weeks out. But of course that makes it hard because you chance the flight selling out earlier.

Last year I booked tickets to Myrtle Beach thinking $90 was a great price about 2 months out. 3 weeks before we went I made the mistake of looking and they were on sale for $30 Round Trip!! A big difference when buying 5 tickets. But I still paid a lot less than the other airlines so I didn't beat myself up too much about it.

Their sales usually are short 1-2 day sales so you really do need to watch every day. One of the dates I've been looking at recently was June 30th and the return flight has sat at $179 for almost 2 months. Yesterday it dropped to $84.

For myself, I'd wait a bit and watch for August. They tend to come out high, drop a bit later on and then fluctuate. With one big exception being peak travel times around holidays. Those seem to mostly go up and only go on sale really close to the date and only if they are for some reason unable to fill the flight. August won't be the cheapest but it shouldn't be really high either. It's always a bit of a balancing act between how important the exact dates and times are to you and what price is low enough. 3 weeks out prices might be amazing but you may be stuck with the time or a date that isn't exactly what you wanted.

Good luck!

I booked on JetBlue literally 5 or 6 months ago had a great fare of like 45 dollars pp 1 way. Had to move my flight up earlier in day.

Lets just say it was cheaper to rebook on Frontier then to pay the $75 PP to change flight on JetBlue.

Literally no way to predict prices. Book when you are comfortable with the price.
