Just heard the morning news that as of April Frontier
will no longer fly out of LVIA (Allentown PA)
saying that operating costs are too high. It's been
less than a year since they offered flights from ABE.
I'm really disappointed I never got a chance to use
their service. Allegiant is the only airline offering
nonstop flights to MCO now.

I'm sooooo disappointed to hear this. Heard it on the news this morning. I just booked a March Disney trip & am planning to use Frontier - I better go book it now. They're leaving April 7th. I guess its back to USAir with a layover if I don't want to travel to another airport. Flying non-stop into Sanford doesn't appeal to me (Allegiant doesn't fly into MCO, they fly into Sanford).

That's right! Wasn't thinking about Sanford. UGH
The past few times we flew Airtan out of ABE. It was great. I haven't heard anything about Frontier pulling out of Harrisburg. Hate going down
to Philly.

UGH! I read about this late last night! We have our flights booked for late April through Frontier ABE already!!! We haven't gotten an official email yet letting us know what they intend on doing with our flights, but I'm kind of irate to say the least.

What I really don't understand about this is that they only had flights booked through May 15. So why not honor your commitments to those passengers and then part ways with the airport on May 16. I don't understand why they're leaving April 7???? What's one more month? I am not taking this lightly. Waiting to get official word from Frontier, but if anyone has any ideas about the best way to make my grievances known to Frontier, I'm all ears. If they just cancel our flights outright like this, I will never fly them again and will go out of my way to discourage anyone else to fly them. How could you ever trust them again not to just decide to pull up and take their airline elsewhere?

Just heard they're introducing direct to MCO from Trenton...so they just decide to up and leave passengers in the lurch at ABE b/c they want to start in a new market?!?! Fine, but honor your commitments through May 15 first...

Ok, I'm done with my rant...for now :p

As far as I know Frontier is leaving the ABE-MCO route and the PHL-MCO route and they are replacing them by flying into MCO from MDT and TTN.

As for honoring any flight dates in May, I highly doubt that will happen as they are probably contractually obligated to only give an airport X number of days notice for cancellation of service and any flights after that I would assume would be cancelled with a full refund and nothing else past that.

I just booked the flights yesterday out of ABE for a Disney trip in a little less then three weeks and I was very surprised that the price had just dropped by almost $25 dollars per person over what it was a week ago and I'm guessing that's because both planes, as of now, are maybe a bit more then 1/2 filled for our dates.

From what I've read, the tickets for service from Trenton have been selling great and Frontier is expanding service out of TTN to TPA, FLL, and a few other cities but it never really took off at ABE which is why they're pulling out there and pulling out of the MCO market in PHL as well.

They're still offering good prices while they're here, I just booked 12/11-14 for a last minute trip at $121 round trip from ABE to MCO. So take advanatge of it while you can!

Just found this thread on Frontier pulling out of ABE already! TaraPA......we're there for a last minute trip also from 12/13 to 12/16.....only we're flying from AVP on Allegiant Thursday morning and back to ABE on Sunday afternoon....oh well.......guess it's our first and last trip on Frontier!

Its a shame... ABE is really one of the few options to fly in the northeast during Presidents week and not pay and arm and a leg. We live closer to a half a dozen big airports, but have flown out of ABE on Airtran... and will be flying on Frontier this coming Feb.

That said, I have to say ABE has an awful lot of gates and not many flights per day. Clearly overbuilt, or demand for the airport never panned out. I have never seen TSA employees basically sleeping on the job until I went to ABE as there is basically no one going thru security for long stretches at a time... ABE seems like a mall where all the anchors have pulled out... a ghost town.

Maybe we'll see you there!

I am SO bummed! We just had a WONDERFUL experience with Frontier, and I was hoping to take the whole family in Summer. From TSA to boarding...PERFECT!! Ugh..guess I'll research Trenton :faint:

wow bummer:headache:. we are planning on going to disney next year and this throws a wrinkle in the planning. we have flown allegiant and delta, prefer to go into mco and use dme. delta options are getting limited to times to fly into and out of abe. guess ill have to look into phl or newark. any ideas anybody?? the dw flies sw out of phl for work sometimes and doesnt mind it, but she gets a ride to and from airport through her work. when she goes out of abe she uses usair and gets layover in chrlotte. oh well sorry for my babble!! ideas appreciated....

Don't rule out Trenton. Free parking, very few flights, easy in and out, it's right off I-95 on the NJ side of the Scudders Falls Bridge, I think it's exit 3, might be 2.

Thanks!! There's not a huge amount of Info on Trenton airport. I did see great nonstop fares to mco. Is the parking secure. Im not familiar with the Trenton areas but I know some aren't great.

The airport is north of Trenton in a suburban area with office parks and homes, not in the city or bad area at all. I think it's actually in Ewing.
