We are staying at the Beach Club. If we take the monorail to Epcot after an MK evening but arrive after Epcot closed, is there a way to go thru the park to get to the International Gateway, do they bus us back if its too late or do we wind up in transportation limbo? I realize there is a bus directly to the BC, we were just hoping to get a monorail ride in.

Could you do the opposite? Go through Epcot (you'll need a valid park ticket to get into Epcot) to the monorail and then head to MK. It's not the most time efficient method, but my family has done that before.

I don't know if this is what always happens, but when we were there in April we left the MK around 10:30. Epcot was closed at that point (9:00 close) and they were not running the monorail to it. When we got to the TTC via monorail there were repeated announcements that anyone that needed to get to Epcot needed to speak to the CM at the bottom of the platform. Not sure if they were running buses or what, but the MK to Epcot monorail was def. not running.
OP - Not sure what time you were thinking of leaving MK.

Well if you leave MK too late you won't be taking the monorail at all, it's not like Disney runs it ALL the time the park is open :rotfl2:(Another reason I don't get the hype, stay too late and you can't get to your monorail resort without taking a bus/boat LOL!)

To get a monorail ride in after your Magic Kingdom evening, you could take the monorail all the way around back to where you started (Magic Kingdom station). Then take the bus back to Beach Club.

It is not unusual for guests to park at Epcot and then park hop to MK for the evening. So it is not unusual for guests arriving back at Transportation & Ticket Center to need continuing transportation back to Epcot even if the latter has closed. (Also the Epcot parking is used as overflow for MK.)

I guess it gets sticky as the timing gets later and parks start closing. I hadn't thought about not even being able to get the monorail back to Epcot. I figured they would run it until the parking lot was clear from park hopping guests. I suppose it makes more sense to close it as some point and just deal with the few guests affected on a case by case basis (cm at the bottom of the platform).

Thanks everyone! Looks like we will ride it over before our dinner instead of back. As someone said, not the most efficient but part of the fun of Disney is the variety of transportation options!
