From Ragged to Royal...Two sisters journey. Sept 2015

Ty, I think the next time we get together, we should make some stuff from the cookbook...scrap, eat and be merry! Maybe try some stuff we didn't get to at food and wine.
As long as you do the cooking I am game.

Following along! My sister and I leave in November for my 30th bday trip.
Oh Happy Birthday, you gals will have a great time. I don't know if you know this, but if you are in WDW on your actual birthday it doesn't count, it's like a leap year almost. I should be turning 45 this year but since I will be at WDW on my actual birthday again, I will stay 39, just as you will stay 29.

Our next adventure was to build our own rollercoaster at Sum of all thrills. We had both done this on our trip in 2011and we loved it so of course we would have to do it again. We headed to Innoventions to create the best rollercoaster of all time. We entered the cool building and had to take off the sunglasses to let our eyes adjust and wipe off the sweat that had collected in a pool right under my eyes. We considered for a second going into to storm stories but quickly squashed that, we were on a mission to flip our booties upside down.

The posted wait time was next to nothing, we got in line and was given a card. That card would store the blueprints to our rollercoaster. Son it was our turn to go into the preshow where we would learn what we needed to do in order to build a fun but safe ride.

While Bo was busy taking pictures I was busy trying to stay standing, that danged dizzy thing started again, I was figuring it out by then that it only happened in dark closed spaces, before I thought coincidence but now I knew for sure. Luckily it doesn't take too long to learn what we need to do for this ride. When the little movie was over we went to the design room and found our designated table. We got busy right away, we wanted a tall hill, lots of speed, a loop, a couple cork screws and some bunny hops.

you are given a certain amount of time to build your coaster and test it before riding, you even get to name it, I don't remember the name of ours, I know it had Eagle in it, but anyway, we finished fast and headed up to the platform for our chance to ride this awesome creation, we handed the CM our card and while he loaded it onto the computer we put our stuff in the provided locker and then climbed into the simulator. Once you are strapped in they pull this hood down over your head, you are able to see the beginning of the track that you built you can also see your ride partner in a little tiny screen up to the right, we stuck our tongues out at each other. I started feeling dizzy before our ride even started. Ugh, I forgot all about once we started moving. I have to say...Bo and I built a total winner, it had it all, everything you need for fun, fear and flippin your booty around and upside down.

I gave us an A+. With the ride over, we collected our stuff and headed out the door, it was time to use our fastpass for Spaceship earth. We walked to the huge golf ball, it didn't have a long line and a FP wasn't really needed but we used it just to get rid of it. We walked all the way up to our vehicle and stepped in for our journey through communication over time.
]
I love just leaning back and relaxing on this ride, it's air-conditioned to the point of almost being too cold, not cold enough to complain though. We posed for our picture, (FYI remove your sunglasses from your head completely, not just from your eyes, the camera doesn't pick that up and you are left with weird holes where your glasses sat) My favorite part of this entire ride is after we see all the animatronics and hear about communication and then the ride starts its strip back to the bottom, it feels good on my back and I like to just close my eyes and pretend that it's night and I'm outside looking at the stars. I also like the little cartoon featuring Bo and myself. At the end of the ride we went and watched for our ride picture and then tried our hand at a few games.]
As you can see I was wearing my sunglasses on top of my head so the picture is a bit wonky.
I'm going to stop here for now. I'm tired.

Sooo, i'm gonna share some of my thoughts and memories about the p. 5 updates. AoA's food...loved it! The pizza was my favorite because it was a lot like pizza planets, and it's the best. The pasta was a nice change though, one of the CM's suggested I mix the Alfredo and Marinara, "what?! You can do that???" Yes you can, and it was yummy...but...if you're not expecting it, i could see how it might not go over well.
As tired as I was, it was never hard to get up early and get ready for another amazing day at Disney. I always got up first, I think it takes me longer to prep and spackle. Ty is naturally beautiful and did not need as much work. Mom once said she had " a million dollar smile" I asked what my smile was...mom said "a buck ninety-five" oh well. Anyway, the bus ride to Epcot was great. Our driver "John" was really interactive. He told jokes and shared Disney trivia. He told us this wasn't the "cash cab" but the "free bus" and therefore, he wasn't going to come to a complete stop, he was just gonna slow down a bit... his parting words? " Tuck and roll people!"
Ty and I probably stopped at Starbucks at least once a day, we weren't in any rush to get anywhere once we were in the park, we had loose plans and we were just going to let the day unfold. I love soarin... I feel like I'm really soarin, following the river, so close to the kayakers I had to lift my feet to avoid kicking them. I could smell the pine, oranges and salt...feel the spray on my face... Disney did well! I must admit, i'm a little concerned about the changes.( I'll know soon enough) i'm sure there are videos out about it, but I wont look, I want, neeeeeeed the surprise. I think The anticipation is part of the fun!

Ty I really like, nope, I really love sum of all thrills...but I tell ya, those seats are not forgiving at all! I'm almost certain I had to bounce and shimmy a bit to squeeze into it. Initially I think my bum was floating as my hips got wedged in. NOT a pretty picture, but accurate. We did create an amazing coaster! I hope they still have it, I just know it will be one of Jerry's favorites.

We needed to waste some time...well not waste, time spent at a Disney park is never a waste, we had a lot of time until our next fast pass so we wanted to find something to do until then. It was hot, we were thirsty, AHA! Club Cool. "C'mon Bo, let's go to where the cool people go to stay cool."

Everybody has their favorites, mine is the veggie something, it's non carbonated,

my second favorite is the Bilbo, I forget how it's spelled, (I've recently learned that they sell it in Africa at Animal Kingdom)

Also in life there are weird people, the ones who like the yuck, the ones that wish they could buy the Beverly because they would drink it as a beverage, unlike the normal people who would buy it to induce vomiting or clean their toilets. Meet one of those weird people who like the Beverly

Spent over 2 hours on this, there was a lot more to it, it decided not to post my pictures, so I went back in and redid it, same thing happened plus it took even more pictures away, I'm done tonight, sorry it's a short update.

I do love that drink! Not too crazy about the name though... no soda should have a person's name. (Sounds a little off, " yes, i'll take Beverly with a twist"...not quite right) that being said, " the Beverly" is definitely a drink for someone with refined taste. I remember Ty the first time you had me try it. You hyped it up as the best drink ever and the look on your face when I actually liked it was priceless! Such shock and disappointment. ( Shame on you for giving your sis something you thought might induce vomiting...i know how you roll though, and one day...one day)

Hi there, just found your trip report and read it all! Great idea to have a sisters' trip, and being chosen parade grand marshals was a wonderful surprise. I've been trying to plan a trip with my sister also, but still waiting to see if she can go next year.

Nemo goes to school.
everything is cool until his over protective Dad finds out they are going to the drop off, he freaks and ends up embarrassing the kid in front of all his class mates, in an act of defiance Nemo swims out into open water and touches the butt.
OK, I don't remember this part of the show. Whose butt did Nemo touch? And how did this get into a G-rated show.

I'm the little sister, it's my job to play tricks, sometimes they backfire, like with the Beverly, eeew gross, I should have known though by some of the nasty food you eat.

Oh I hope it works out that your sister can go, I've gone with friends before but nothing beats having your sister there with you, I will pray that it happens for you guys.

Nemo touched THEE butt, the big blue butt that was floating out in the open see, why Disney chose to put that in the show has me puzzled, maybe they thought adding such risqué scenes would entice older people to go sea the show? That's just a guess.

DaisyDuck001...i think Nemo called the back/ bottom of the boat the " Butt."
Bo, honey, I think she knows this, that was a joke, right DaisyDuck001, you did know that Nemo and his friends called the boat the butt?

Actually I didn't know that! I've been to the show but I must have missed that part.

And thanks so much for the good wishes and prayers.

Bo wanted me to try the Beverly, "C'mon Ty, peoples taste for things change over the years, you might actually like it now." I thought about this, it is true. All my childhood I had wanted to like tomato soup, it looked good, it smelled good and I loved tomatoes but I could never like the soup, every few years I would try it and yuck, but then one cold winter I decided to give it a try and danged wouldn't you know, I loved it and still do, soooooo
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
Bo wanted me to just take it as a shot, quick and easy, I was not able to do that, I did take a big gulp and ya know what?
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
Nope, still hate it, still yucky, still capable of inducing vomiting. You can keep your Beverly Bo, I'm going to stick with my favorites. I needed a chaser after that so I went for the Bilbo. After we filled up on sodas from around the world we left to go peruse one of the best gift shops ever.
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
For the most part all the gift shops carry the same stuff, but Mouse Gears always seems to have a little something extra. Bo and I split up and I set myself to shopping, I wanted a hoodie zip up, I wanted it to be Disneyish but not characters splashed across the front, I couldn't find anything I liked in the womans section so I went and checked out the mens side, I found a great hoodie but it was $$$$ so I went to find Bo. I found her looking at jewelry, "What do you think of this hoodie?" she liked it, so I showed her the price tag, "Do you like it this much?" She raised her eyebrows to say wow, that's a lot. "If you like it Ty, then get it." I tried it on and looked in the mirror, it looked good on me, dang it, and the color was perfect, but I hadn't done my Hollywood studio shopping yet, they have great clothing selections there too, so I put the hoodie back and told myself that if it was still there on our next Epcot day then it was meant to be and I would get it for sure. Bo and I both left empty handed. I did get some snuggles from Stitch though.

Oh, hahaha I really thought you were just being funny, I think they tried to do the show as close to the movie as possible, including touching the butt/boat. "Nemo if you lay one fin on that boat...I'm gonna.." and then slap, Nemo laid his fin on it.

We still had some time to kill and thought Ellen's energy ride would be good, I really like that show/ride, some people say it's good for a nap, I say it's good for a rest but I like the show and I do watch it. We walked over to wait for the next show to open up. First we had to wait forever for Bo to get the perfect picture
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
It was important to Bo to get the monorail passing in front of the Epcot Ball, I'm glad she got her picture....cause then we were able to go sit and wait
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
Another one of Bo's pictures, I don't know what happened to the other side of my face, call me Picaso, oh well. Oh you can see the fan hanging around Bo's neck, I would have been wearing mine but I couldn't find it, I had left it back in our room, smart me. They opened the doors to let us in and we quickly nabbed a bench against the wall, there's only a few in there, so I felt lucky to be able to sit, normally I wouldn't mind standing but I wasn't sure if that dizzy thing would happen. The movie portion started with Ellen and eventually her drifting off to sleep while watching jeopardy then we are let in to the ride portion, Bo and I had a whole row to ourselves, I made the mistake of getting too comfortable cause I ended up falling asleep and staying asleep until almost the very end. The power nap did wonders for me, I felt pretty good when we left the theater plus by then our fast pass time for Mission space was ready. There wasn't much of a line when we got there so we opted to get our pictures taken before going in, we had the memory maker which is really so worth the money and it's a lot of fun playing around with borders and stickers for the pictures.
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

When riding Mission Space you have to make a choice, the green side which is a less intense ride, you still get to experience the fun of going into outer space, and then there is the orange side, the thrill of going to outer space with the feeling of being sent through the spin cycle twice and shaken like a polaroid picture, which team did we choose?

[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

Orange team all the way baby.

With Orange card in hand we headed in
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
I didn't see any that time, but other times in the past as I went through the line here they had people sitting at mission control, can you imagine that job, just sitting at a make believe control panel and just push buttons, I would love that, I would have put on a good show for people too, I wouldn't just push buttons and smile, no way, I'd frantically push buttons pull my hair throw my hands up in the air then push more buttons and eventually act out how I saved the mission. We got to the split in the line, orange goes one way, green the other, we went with the group looking for more intense training, it's the only way to properly prepare for the mission. We took each step seriously and finally made it to our line up, we met the other 2 people that would make up our 4 person crew. 2 guys, Father and son? Uncle and nephew? it didn't matter, I just hope they would help us in this mission, last thing we needed was to pick up the slack of 2 crew members. We were given our assignments, Bo's position in this crew was engineer.
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
I was the person to the right of that, I can't remember the title, I do remember my job was to push the hyper sleep button...yea I know right? I'm on my way to space and my important roll in all of it was to make sure my crew got a good nap. I'm not complaining but, yes I am. I'm totally complaining. All I can say is if the other 2 crew members didn't do their jobs I was going to take over. Our capsule closed and we were inches from the screen.
[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
We are ready for launch, here is where it gets real, first it rumbles and then you feel it in your stomach, you're being pressed into your chair as you get close and closer to the clouds, at some point Mission control tells somebody to disengage the boosters, Bo and I yell OK at the same time. once you make it into orbit and the force that was holding you back releases, you actually feel weightless for a few seconds. I won't lie, up until then it's a little painful, I even screamed "ouch" just when we were starting to get comfortable we were told that we needed to sling shot around the moon, so round 2 in the spin cycle, luckily it doesn't last as long as take off, I was given the ok to put everyone to sleep, I pushed that sleep button like no one had ever pushed a sleep button before. I don't know how long we were asleep for but we were awoken by flashing lights and loud beeping, Gary Sinese was screaming that we were in an asteroid field so the pilot had to do some slick maneuvering, Bo just automatically took control and was guiding us through, we could see our landing up ahead, Bo lined us up for it, she did a great job except for the part where she over shot our landing, but hey we lived to tell about it.
We took the barf bags with us when we left, for scrapbooking reasons...yea. We went and sent some postcards from space to our emails at home before exiting through the dump shop. I took a look at the Chewbacca back pack and if it weren't so hot I probably would have bought it and used it.
By then we had completed everything we had wanted to do that day in future world so it was time to go to world showcase.

Ty, great ride! Love mission space! I thought it very apropos that you be in charge of hypersleep. ( If I had the time and know how, I would insert at least one of the many pics I have of you sleeping ...in line at soarin, the Ellen show, the bus...)

Ty, you would be a phenomenal control room CM! Folks would go through the line just to see you...you'd be famous! You'd be in every trip report, video montage... probably on the must see list of every Disney planning site! If only they knew what they're missing.

True, I guess if anybody should be in charge of hyper sleep it should be me, I have taken sleeping to a whole new level.

That would be awesome, I could even have meet-n-greets and sign autographs.

Ty, re: the mirrored photo...i believe I am Picasso and you are my master piece. Maybe if I sell that photo it'll pay for our next sisters trip...just thinking out loud here...

Yeah buddy! Oh! And I could be your handler! A big sister's job is never done.:yay:
