From Port Canavral to airport

I am on the Disney cruise week of 4/19-4/26. We are traveling with 7 adults and one infant. Looking for the best way to get back and forth and the most cost effective. We are staying over night on th 18 in CoCo Beach. The last day we get off the ship at 9am and fly out at 6:15pm... Long day for the baby! Do we rent a car for the entire week... get a shuttle bus? Rent a car from the port to the airport on the 26? Really need your help!!!!!!!!!!

What we have done in the past is purchase 1 way vouchers (to go from airport to the port). With all the confusion of getting off the plane, Disney Transportation seems to be the way to go. They pick you up at the gate and bring you down to where the busses are. You never even need to worry about your luggage.
When we are done with the cruise, we take the 2 minute shuttle to the car rental in Coco Beach and rent a car for the day. This gives us options for the day. We have actually spent hours in the park before flying home. You can drop off the car at the airport. The rental was not that costly!

Definitely do not take disneybus. Either hire a limo $225 for up to 10 people round trip, (such as happylimo) or rent a minivan. see links to tiffany towncar also

If you post your question on the Cruise Board you'll be inundated with suggestions! There are LOTS of ways to do this and those people over there are experts.

FYI: Last year we did a one-way rental from AVIS (no extra charge for the one-way), picking it up at the airport and dropping it off at the Radisson at the Port and then the opposite on the way home. It was WAY cheaper than any of the other options!

This year we are doing 2 one way rentals (Avis). All total for both days for a "full size" (Buick Century) car is about $100. Check www.mousesavers.com for special Avis "AWD" codes, or other rental agency discount codes.

Last year we did a towncar service. It was very convenient, but this year we opted for a "budget" option that gives us some flexibility.
