From MK to WCC and back

Whats my easiest way to get to WCC for a 5 pm dinner ADR(on a friday no emh?) How long the gate area should I allow? TIA

If you will already be in the MK, just take the boat which is right outside the entrance to the MK. It takes about 20 minutes (if the boat is there). I would allow at least 45 min- 1 hour just to be on the safe side so that if you have to wait for a boat to come, you have more than enough time. When, you are done, just head back to the MK on the boat. That is the quickest way.

There is a bus that goes from right in front of MK to right in front of WL (and then a bus back). Allow 45 minutes - you can use the extra time to marvel at WL's lobby atrium.

You could take the boat, but the boat takes much longer than the bus.

If a bus is there, I would agree, it can be faster. Sometimes you have to wait for a bus too though.

I totally disagree with the boat taking 20 mins to get to WL.

We go to WCC every trip and love taking the boat. It has never been over 10mins once you are on the boat. And the wait time for the boat is equal to wating for a bus.

The boat ride is a relaxing way to get there and not longer.
At least that is our experience.

We've stayed at VWL quite a few times (we're DVC members, and it is one of our home resorts), and that's how we've gained confidence that the bus is the faster approach. YMMV, of course.

I agree that taking the bus would be the best option.

I agree with most of the other posters - take the bus if you want to get there fairly quickly. We stayed at the WL last year and we were actually pretty impressed how quickly we could get to the MK and back. Plus we never had to wait very long for a bus to arrive either. But if you have time on the way back to the MK try the boat!

Also keep in mind that the bus is the better option if it's raining. There is no guarantee that you'll get a boat where you can sit inside. Last time I went over to WL the boat was wide open and I had to try to sit in the middle instead of by the water. If coming from the docks, it will take a couple of minutes to walk up the path to the lodge. The bus may be the better option.
