From Hotel to Discovery Cove ????

Hi everyone! We will be at Coronado Springs Resort, and have one outside trip to Discovery Cove. We never go off site when we visit, so we don't rent a car. We use FL Tours for our rides to and from the Airport. Our question is - Do the Taxis that are always outside of the hotels travel as far as Discovery Cove, and do they also have Taxi stands at Discovery Cove to get us back? How much, approximately, does that ride cost? Or do we need to make advanced reservations? FL Tours says that they do this ride, but I also don't know how much that costs. Also, as we don't know how long we'll be at Discovery Cove, we don't know how to do this planning for the rides in advance. Thanks for your help!! Jane

In a similar situation, staying at Pop Century with my dd12 and we are going to Discovery Cove one day. I don't want to rent a car so I was debating a shared Mears shuttle or a taxi. Would love to hear from people who have done the taxi and about how much it was.

Hi

I've been to discovery cove twice. I say call mears and use them. I think the shared shuttle thing is $18.00 per person round trip. You arrange a pick up time from your resort as well as when they should pick you up from discovery cove. I recommend staying til they close which is 5:30. We had a pickup time from DC at 5:45. You won't regret that! Once you get there, you won't want to leave!

Thanks for the reply! I have a question for you on the shuttle, how long does it take? I am assuming it stops at several hotels and my concern was how long it was. Years ago, like 12, we stayed at a Sheraton offsite and took a shuttle to Sea World. It took *FOREVER* because it stopped at so many other hotels.

Would love to hear your experience as far as the timing goes!

Well, the timing is something I can't really help you out with. The very first trip I had to discovery cove, we were picked up in a Taxi and taken right there. Didn't take too long. Same with coming back.

This last time, we were on the big bus going there which made other stops and I was angry that it did, (I still think someone took our taxi). Coming back a Van picked up a few of us (6 or 8 of us) and we stopped at 3 resorts.

If you can I suggest getting an early pickup time. Checkin at DC starts at 8am. They say the park opens at 9am but it really opens before that.
