from CBR to POFQ

we had to change our dates in sept to an earlier time for my daughters wedding at WDW . We were scheduled for CBR which I was so excited to stay for the first time, but since the pool is going to be closed and we are staying 13 nights, we had a few days of hanging out at the resort. So I tried to change to CSR but not available, so we are staying at POFQ. I am a little sad about the change, since this will be our first time at a moderate and we love the CBR theme. Can someone please tell me that POFQ will be just as great, and is it still worth it to upgrade from a value. Thanks for all the help and advice. Laura

DD15 and I stayed at POFQ last year and loved it. The resort is small and quaint. If you'll be spending alot of time at the resort, you can always take a short walk up to POR. It is a larger resort with table service restaurant and a larger food court. We quite often walked to POR...the walk is along the river and is quite relaxing. In the evening, there are horse drawn carriages that walk along the river as well. Many times, I just walked over to the river and sat on a bench and enjoyed the peace and quiet. ENJOY!

I've stayed at both, and I love both. Very different feels to them.

CBR is spread out, so it never feels crowded. It has lovely natural beauty (which has been carefully orchestrated by Disney ).

POFQ is pleasantly compact, so there are no lengthy walks to get anywhere. If I had to describe POFQ in one word, it would be "charming."

There's nothing not to love at POFQ ... it's a great place!

Don't forget that each village at the CBR has their own quiet pool. You would still be able to swim. As far as just hanging out at the resort, you would still be able to do so at the CBR even with pool construction. There are beaches with hammocks and beach chairs. You can still rent the watermice, pontoon boats, bicycles and surrey bikes at the CBR too!

We ended up switching to POFQ and we are actually very excited... we downgraded from a larger dulx as we have been told that if we want to relax its the place to go!!!! I am sure you will have a wonderful time...

Just got back from POFQ and it is small and charming (we've also stayed at CBR). The pool was closed for rennovation, but it looks fun for kids. The boat ride to DtD is wonderful. Remember you can use any of the amenities at POR (we've also stayed there; fishing, large pool, etc.). I'd pick POFQ over CBR anytime!
