From Boma (AKL) to SSR....

Is it best to take a bus to DTD and then just walk/boat to SSR? This is our first night, so I'm sure I'll still be getting in the swing of the transportation system. Thanks!

It really depends on how much you like to walk and which area of SSR you're in. If you're in the section closest to DTD, it's ~ 10 minute walk from the bus stop. I remember walking it between 10 and 11 PM and I guess there were enough lights. Don't remember feeling it was dangerous (but DH was with me).

You could have another 10-15 minute walk if you're not in that section --- but it could take longer than that to wait for a bus. OR, it's just a few minutes to the boat dock at Marketplace, and you could take the boat back, if it's not too late. You still might have 10-15 minute walk to your room.

PS --- Hope you enjoy Boma as much as we do! We eat there 1-2 times a trip. (and we also had a great time at SSR and really did enjoy the walk to DTD several times).

The Congress Park section of SSR is the closest to DTD. We've walked it several times at all hours, safely. The lighting on the path is good except for a very short spot through the trees just as you get to the resort boundary. I imagine it's not extremely well lit so as not to advertise it's presence.

If I'm not mistaken, from AKL you're going to have to take a bus to a hub anyway, I would suggest the bus from AKL to DTD if you are in Congress Park. If not, You might as well get the bus from AKL to the Transport Center, then to SSR. Especially if it's late and you're tired.

Yes, I know you can see SSR from the bus stop at DTD, but it's farther than it looks if you're not in that nearest section.

PS: I think the ferry runs every 30 minutes and the last ferry is 11:15pm
