First time user of AVIS - in the past have always gotten Alamo. Three questions.
1)What's the quickest route to ASMo?
2)Any tips or suggestions for using avis (I've got free rental coupons, so that's why I'm using them)
3)Any place for quick eats on the way to WDW. We land at 2PM and I'm trying to get to WDW in time to see a parade (I know, keep dreaming) Anyway, We will have been in the air since 11AM and I'd love to hit a bun and run or the like and eat in the car on the way in to take the edge off so we don't go into a park starving. Any ideas?

1) What's the quickest route to ASMo?

We always take the South Airport Exit to the GREENWAY/SR-417 . This is usually the fastest because it leads directly to WDW. Just follow the signs to WDW and then to the All Stars. (I'm not sure if it is better to take the I-4 west or the International Dr exit. The Avis counter will know or I'm sure someone will post.)

The North Airport Exit to the Beeline/SR-528 tends to more traffic because it feeds into I-4, where you can connect "west" to WDW or "east" to Universal Studios. (Plus the Greenway costs about an extra 50 cents in tolls :p ).

2) Any tips or suggestions for using avis (I've got free rental coupons, so that's why I'm using them)

Avis is "on-site" at MCO, so just go downstairs after you pick up your luggage. Make sure you have your coupons, drivers license, and a major credit card. Your insurance may be covered by your personal auto insurance and/or the credit card you use. Check before hand so you'll know whether you can waive the rental company's very expensive add-ons.

3) Any place for quick eats on the way to WDW. We land at 2PM and I'm trying to get to WDW in time to see a parade ...

You'll never make MK or MGM by 3pm, might make AK by 4pm, but Epcot by 6:30pm will no problems (typical start times for the parades.) If you are in a real hurry, try picking up something at MCO. There's a Burger King and other fast food joints on the 3rd floor concouse, near all the shops. You might be able to get something to go before your luggage arrives on the 2nd floor carousel.

If you take the Greenway, there's not too much until you get to John Young Parkway. I know that there is a supermarket shopping center (Home Depot, Albertson's), so there's probably some fast food around.

Hope this helps, Steve:cool:

The advantage of taking the 417 is easily on and off from the airport and there is very little traffic. If you you are coming in on a weekend I4 will be busy.

There is a huge McDonalds just before you get to the Allstars, maybe a half mile or away on the left side. You can't miss i

Thanks for the info. You're right, the airport might be the best bet for food. we're going to have to wait a few minutes for our luggage anyway. And we're going to try for Animal Kingdom for 4PM Wish us luck!
