We have transfers from the Airport to the ship through Disney. We are arriving at the airport in Orlando fairly early - around 9:15 am. How do things work with Disney once you arrive at the airport? Will we be waiting at the airport for many hours before they fill a bus to go to the ship terminal? Any information as to what we can expect once we arrive at the airport would be really appreciated.

I don't believe they start transporting you to the ship 'till around 10:30 or 11.

I do not know what time the buses start to run, but once they do buses fill up very quickly....you will not be waiting for hours...more like 30 minutes tops.

A DCL CM will greet you when you walk down from your gate on arrival. They will escort you to the DCL buses and help you with any paperwork, questions, etc.

Your luggage will be taken to ship via a truck, not the bus so keep any things you will need with you in your carryons.

We did this our first time, and got on the 1st bus at 9:30. It was great! By the time we got to the port it was about to open, so we were the first group in... :)

Don't know if this is still the norm..

yes, first bus leaves at 9:30 am and it's packed with many waiting in line for the 2nd bus. very efficient!

We cruised 12-27-03, and our luggage went on our bus. They made us make sure we saw our luggage get on the bus before we left. We got to the buses about 10:30 am and I don't think it was more than 15 minutes before it filled and on it's way. The buses fill up quickly.

This is good to know since we will actually be arriving on Friday night and staying at an offsite hotel only to return to the airport on Saturday morning to catch the disney shuttle. I guess that we'll plan to arrive at the airport around 9:00.

I don't think this is the norm, though. Did you book DCL air??? Maybe that is what I was thinking. I know if you have DCL air, they will claim your bags and then send them to the ship via truck. Or else what would be the benefit of having DCL's air service is you still had to be with your luggage. The main draw for taking DCL air and transportation is that you check your bags at your home airport and don't see them again until they are in your stateroom.

Maybe if you just have DCL transfers (but not DCL air) they load them under the bus. Thanks for brining up this point!!!

you won't believe how many people do the same as what you're doing. We did that too and in our hotel, there were other guests who were on the same ship we were. We met many fellow passengers before we got on the ship.

Yea, sometimes getting the hotel shuttle back to the airport can be a problem - not so much with the number of passengers but the amount of luggage we all take on the cruise!
