Probably about the same thing you wore to high school grad. My mom wore a nice sundress to my graduation, and my aunts both wore pant suits. Wear what your comfortable in, and wear something weather permitting. For example, in my high school, it was about a hundred degrees in the auditorium, so anyone in a pant suit had to be roasting.

thanks

I was thinking about the heat in the auditorium, but did not want to be too underdressed.

And we plan to be there for a while ...since we are flying in and want to have good seats we will most likley be there for hours i plan to take a book!

Fellow WVU student here :) When my brother graduated we dressed up a bit but not too much. I don't know where you're from originally, but you should remember this is West Virginia and people do go as casual as they can ;), but really anything dressy is fine. I wore khaki capris and a nice shirt. My mom wore a dress, I think, and my dad wore khakis and a polo shirt. My sisters wore sundresses. I'd say we were about average there - some people wore jeans and t-shirts, and others were in full suits. A regular pants suit would be fine if that's what you want.

Do you know what college he's graduating from/what location? I could tell you more about how hot/cold it will be in there then.

Yeah, because everyone is in a different college (I'm in the Eberly College of Arts & Sciences for example, and he's in the College of Engineering) and the graduations are at different locations depending on the college you're graduating from. His graduation is in the Coliseum though, which is the basketball arena. It can get hot in there, but I don't remember it being too too hot when we were there for my brother. I would wear some layers in case you do get hot, but honestly it's only really hot when there are a ton of people in there (ie. concerts or basketball games). Just wear something dressy, but not extreme. And congrats to your son :)
