Frizzy Hair! Help!?

I have wavy hair that I blow dry straight and flat iron pretty much every day (unless I get lazy). Well, I learned my lesson last September in Disney. It was sooo humid every day, I just let my hair go. I work in a salon and got my hair washed and blown dry the day before we left so I wouldn't have to worry about it in the morning, so we could just get on the plane and go... well, a few hours later, stepping into the Florida heat, my hair curled right up. This year I'm not even bothering to pack my flat iron or hair dryer! (more room in my suitcase to bring home souveniers!!!) The only products I use when wearing my hair wavy are Got 2b curl vacious and Got 2b shine spray. Also less to worry about in the morning and we can get to the parks quicker! :goodvibes

I have incredibly curly hair which frizzes easily in humidity. That's one of the reasons I moved to a dry climate! I've battled it since I was about 8. I have had it permed, straightened, etc. In the end, I've found it best not to battle it. If you straighten it, it just gets frizzy when the humidity hits. In that case, it's better to just let it curl, but try to control the curl. I've finally found something that works quite well for me. I found Pantene Sleek and Shiny (I forget the exact name, it's the one with the green accents on the bottle) shampoo and conditioner. I use the shampoo, then put plenty of the conditioner on. When you're done with your shower, squeeze out your hair, but don't rinse the conditioner out! And don't use a store brand, either. It doesn't work as well, I've tried. Then style your hair as usual. If you need more hold (the conditioner holds your hair in gathered curls pretty well), I use L.A. Looks gel. It's cheap and works well. Good luck!!!

Why not do your hair up in the Bo Derek in the movie "10" style?

I have naturally curly hair, also. Last October, I had a friend give me corn rows, just back to the crown of my head, so it looked like I had a headband in. It was GREAT and I got lots of compliments and people asking me if I had it done there at WDW. I just washed it as usual and dried the back that was loose and curly. I also use a shea butter lotion product in my hair. It's not designed for hair, but it works wonderfully (and it smells good, too).

I also can relate to the frizzy hair syndrome. I use Ouidad products and I love them. I used to use Sebastian products and those still work well but they leave my hair feeling kind of hard. The ouidad Heat and Humidity Gel works to get rid of the frizzy hair and my hair is still soft and the curl is there. I really do love it! Unfortunately they don't have a place here in my town to buy them so I have to get them online.

I also use Ouidad products and I love them. The heat and humidity gel gives me soft, beautiful curls. I went to her salon in NYC about two years ago, but unfortunately can't afford to be a regular! I personally think it's most comfortable to go curly and with hair up in WDW.

Living in Mississippi with the humidity, my hair is always frizzy. I usually wash it and wear it in a ponytail one day. The next day, I'll use a straighting iron on it. It works wonders. My hair is straight for that day and the next. This may be a little more trouble than what you want to go to, but if you want to get the frizz under control this is the only thing I have found that works.

I have chosen to go with the "fro" since I moved to Orlando! I do agree that if I straighten it one day it is usually good for another day or two- but that is sometimes just too much trouble.

My normal hair accessory is my sunglasses on top of my head holding hair back like a head band... They are there now! I've been inside for hours! In the parks I will use one of those claw clip things to hold the pieces that are not long enough to pull back into a "tail" since most of the time my glasses are on my face!

hulagirl87 thanks for the info on the Got 2B products. I've been looking at them...
