My new car has one of the "new" antennas...you know, a stubby black thing instead of the old-school metal whip.

Here's my question: Do I have to put my antenna topper on the back shelf? Is there going to be a design update for the toppers or will they simply go the way of the coal truck?
I buy a topper each time I cruise or visit WDW. ANOTHER Disney tradition CRUSHED by the cruel hands of time....................:sad::sad::sad:

We went through this same period of grief a few years ago. We now have a giant zip top bag full of toppers that we can't use. Good luck finding a local support group to help you through this crushing realization.

Not so frivolous. :) We just used a knife and cut a couple of small slits in the hole of the topper so it would fit on the antenna. Worked like a charm. We have toppers on three "newer" cars.

Or, do what I did and buy a golf ball display rack and fill it with antenna toppers and proudly display them somewhere in your house.

I would say that this is at the cruel hands of the automakers not Disney, my cars both have the shark fin antennas so there's no way to put them on.

I say repurpose them! Sure you can't put them on your new-fangled antenna (( :P )). But there has to be some way to display them. I understand as there are tons of really great ones out there. What about stringing them up and using them as a garland? Make them into ornaments. I'd even get a great big apothecary jar, place them all inside, and display the jar proudly. You can use fillers in the center (like ping pong balls) to fill out the jar and keep your toppers pushed out to the sides to display. I think a wreath made of toppers would be awesome. There's tons of ways to keep displaying those toppers. Good luck!

i don't get toppers. never have. but, they are very popular, can't deny that.
okay, GO! :furious::furious: lol

i like 'em because they ARE kinda silly....I love kitschy stuff....big green statue of liberty figurines, vegas vic, etc etc

I love this idea of the golf ball display rack for the antenna toppers.

I'm still making my antenae toppers work...just made a hole in the side.

My DH got one of the small keychain Mickey Heads and put a small hole in it and put in on the antenna anyway ;) So I have a tiny Mickey antenna topper now.

From all our other ones, he took a block of wood and drilled holes to put a bunch of different length dowels in it. And we stuck one on each dowel to display.
